Trump Drops IRS Lawsuit: Is This the Swamp Draining Itself, or Just Refilling?
Trump ditches his $10 billion IRS lawsuit, setting up what could be the ultimate 'you scratch my back' moment with the Deep State he supposedly fights.

Okay, folks, strap in, because this is peak clown world. Trump, the guy who promised to drain the swamp, is now potentially in line to get a MASSIVE payout from... the swamp. He's dropping his $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS over those tax return leaks, and guess what? The Justice Department is all like, 'Yeah, we're negotiating a settlement.'
So, let's recap. Trump sues the IRS, claiming his tax returns were leaked. Fine. Turns out, the leaker was a contractor, already doing hard time. Case looks weak, statute of limitations probably expired. But then, BAM! The DOJ, under Trump, suddenly decides to play nice and offer a settlement. You can't make this stuff up.
This is the kind of stuff that makes you question everything. Is Trump playing 4D chess, or is he just another politician looking to line his pockets? Judge Kathleen Williams even chimed in, basically saying, 'Dude, you're suing yourself. This is ridiculous.'
She wrote, "Although President Trump avers that he is bringing this lawsuit in his personal capacity, he is the sitting president and his named adversaries are entities whose decisions are subject to his direction. Indeed, President Trump's own remarks about this matter acknowledge the unique dynamic of this litigation. Accordingly, it is unclear to this Court whether the Parties are sufficiently adverse to each other so as to satisfy Article III's case or controversy requirement."
Remember when Trump promised to lock up Hillary? Now he's potentially getting billions from the same system he railed against. It's almost poetic in its hypocrisy.
We've got Rupa Bhattacharyya, a former DOJ lawyer, trying to make this seem normal. 'Oh, it's just like a postal truck accident!' Yeah, except this 'accident' could result in a payout bigger than what 9/11 victims got. Sure, Jan.
Even Edward Whelan, a conservative lawyer, is calling this outrageous. When you've lost him, you know it's bad. But hey, maybe this is all part of the plan. Maybe Trump is playing the long game, and this is just a way to expose the corruption from the inside. Or maybe he just really likes money. Place your bets.
Honestly, at this point, who even knows? The whole thing is a giant meme, a never-ending saga of political theater. But one thing's for sure: the swamp is still as swampy as ever. So, is Trump draining it or just installing a new filtration system that benefits him personally? Time will tell. But don't hold your breath waiting for things to get better.
