Tennessee GOP Trolls Libs With Epic Redistricting Own
Memphis gets the line-drawing treatment after SCOTUS frees the states from woke preclearance.
Nashville, TN - Hold onto your soy lattes, folks, because Tennessee Republicans just dunked on the libs with a redistricting map so based, it's practically wearing a MAGA hat. After years of being shackled by the ghost of Jim Crow, the Supreme Court finally uncuffed the states, and Tennessee heard the call. The result? A Memphis district got a little redistributed, shall we say.
Remember the Voting Rights Act? The one that was supposed to stop racist voter suppression but mostly became a tool for activist judges to micromanage Southern states? Yeah, well, SCOTUS finally said 'enough is enough,' and now Tennessee is drawing its own damn lines. Cry more, snowflakes.
So, what happened? A majority-Black district in Memphis got a little… shall we say… sliced and diced. Don't worry, the melanin didn't disappear; it just got spread around a bit. Suddenly, that safe blue seat is looking a whole lot more competitive. Cue the shrieks of 'voter suppression!' from the usual suspects.
Of course, the left is losing its mind. They're screaming about 'racism' and 'disenfranchisement' and all the other buzzwords they use to virtue signal. But let's be real: redistricting is a political game, and the Dems have been playing it for years. Now that the GOP has a chance to fight back, suddenly it's the end of democracy? Gimme a break.
They'll whine about the Voting Rights Act and how this is a return to the bad old days. But the Supreme Court already weighed in. Get over it. The VRA was always intended to be a temporary measure, not a permanent federal takeover of state elections. The South has integrated. Get with the times.
Expect lawsuits, of course. Every leftist activist group from the ACLU to Black Lives Matter will be filing injunctions faster than you can say 'critical race theory.' They'll argue that the map intentionally discriminates against Black voters and violates the Constitution. But the courts are stacked now, baby. Good luck with that.
The libs are claiming this will suppress the Black vote. Newsflash: Black people are perfectly capable of voting in different districts. They don't need to be herded into a single, gerrymandered district to have their voices heard. This isn't the 1950s. Also, more Black people are turning Republican anyway, facts don't care about your feelings.
So, crack open a cold one and raise a glass to Tennessee for having the stones to stand up to the woke mob. This is what happens when you elect conservatives who aren't afraid to fight back. The libs can cry all they want, but the GOP is playing chess while they're still playing checkers. Enjoy the tears.
