Red Sox Axe Cora: Was He Woke Enough?
Boston's managerial shakeup proves that even winning ain't enough when you're trying to appease the outrage mob.

So, the Red Sox canned Alex Cora, huh? Turns out winning a World Series only buys you so much time in today's woke-ified MLB. He took the Sox to the promised land in '18, but apparently, that wasn't enough to offset… what exactly? A couple of losing seasons? Being associated with a sign-stealing scandal from a previous job? Or maybe he didn't kneel hard enough during the anthem. You never know these days.
Let's be real, Cora wasn't exactly managing a team full of future Hall of Famers lately. They gutted the roster, shipped off Mookie Betts (thanks, woke economics!), and expected Cora to work miracles with spare parts. Then, when the team inevitably underperformed, they used him as a scapegoat. Classic.
And the coaching staff? Five dudes got the boot! Hitting coach, third base coach, bench coach – it's like a managerial purge over there. Meanwhile, Jason Varitek, the old catcher, gets shuffled off to some unspecified role. Probably to make sure the team doesn't accidentally say anything un-PC.
The whole thing stinks of a virtue signal. “See, we're doing something! We care! We're not just sitting here raking in the dough while the team sucks!” It's the same playbook every time. When in doubt, fire the manager and pretend you've solved all the problems.
Now, they're bringing in some Triple-A guy, Chad Tracy, as the interim. Probably some woke disciple who knows all the right buzzwords and can recite the team's DEI statement from memory. Don't expect any miracles. He's just there to hold the seat warm until they can find another puppet who'll play along with the corporate narrative.
Of course, nobody wants to talk about the real issues. Like the fact that MLB is increasingly obsessed with pandering to the perpetually offended. Or that teams are more focused on maximizing profits than building a winning product. Or that the players are overpaid and underperforming.
Nope, let's just fire the manager and pretend everything is fixed. It's the easy way out. The cowardly way out. The woke way out.
So, congrats, Red Sox. You've officially joined the ranks of teams that prioritize virtue signaling over winning. Enjoy your participation trophy. You've earned it.
