OK Boomer: Geriatrics Still Think the Job Market is 'Good'
Meanwhile, Zoomers are drowning in student debt and avocado toast, and the olds just don't get it.

The Geriatric Set (you know, the ones who still use checks) are apparently under the delusion that the job market is good. Good for who, exactly? Because last time I checked, millennials and Zoomers are drowning in student loan debt and working three side hustles just to afford rent. But yeah, sure, the job market is thriving. Okay, Boomer. This is like the third time this week I heard someone unironically claim the economy is somehow good. Do these people live in a different reality? The reality where housing isn't 10x the average salary and a single avocado toast doesn't cost $20? Guess so. These clueless geezers are probably still living off their pensions and telling us to 'pull ourselves up by our bootstraps'. As if bootstraps even exist anymore. They've been replaced by participation trophies and crippling anxiety. The sad part is, these delusionals are probably the ones making the decisions that screw us over in the first place. They're running the corporations, writing the laws, and generally clinging to power like a toddler with a favorite blankie. No wonder young people have 'less faith in institutions'. The institutions are run by tone-deaf dinosaurs who think the internet is a series of tubes. The generational divide isn't just about jobs; it's about a fundamental difference in worldview. They grew up in a world of post-war prosperity and cheap gasoline. We grew up in a world of endless wars, economic collapse, and climate change. So, yeah, forgive us for being a little skeptical about your rosy predictions for the job market. Maybe if these guys started addressing the actual problems facing young people – like, you know, the fact that we can't afford to buy a house or start a family – then maybe we'd start to believe them. But until then, keep your outdated advice to yourself. We're too busy trying to survive to listen to your boomer wisdom. Next time someone tells you the job market is good, just laugh in their face and walk away. It's the only appropriate response.
