LIRR Goes Full Retard: Union Goons Hold Commuters Hostage Over 'Muh Wages'
Another day, another union shakedown — LIRR workers throw a tantrum, proving once again that 'essential' means 'can hold your commute for ransom'.

So, the LIRR is down, huh? Color me shocked. Turns out, when you let a bunch of unionized train drivers run the rails, they eventually pull the emergency brake and demand more tendies. Five unions, representing roughly half the workforce, decided to yeet themselves off the job, leaving 250,000 daily commuters stranded like refugees from wokeistan. Welcome to the Hunger Games, Long Island edition.
Apparently, 'muh wages' and 'muh healthcare' are the rallying cries this time. The MTA, bless their bureaucratic hearts, claims they 'gave the union everything they wanted in terms of pay'. But according to Kevin Sexton, national vice-president of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (try saying that five times fast), 'We’re far apart at this point'. Translation: gimme gimme gimme.
Janno Lieber, the MTA chairman, is probably seething, and rightly so. He's dropping truth bombs, saying the unions always intended to walk out. Shocking, I know. Who could have predicted that a bunch of guys who control vital infrastructure would use that power to extort more money? It's almost like they read Saul Alinsky's 'Rules for Radicals' or something.
The libs are already crying about 'economic justice' and 'worker's rights'. Spare me. These aren't coal miners risking black lung; they're driving trains in air-conditioned cabs. But hey, gotta virtue signal about the working class while sipping your soy latte in Park Slope.
Meanwhile, real people are getting screwed. Rich Piccola, some poor accountant, is bracing for traffic Armageddon. Kathy Hochul, the least inspiring governor since… well, ever, is telling everyone to 'work from home'. Great plan, Kathy. What about the construction workers, the nurses, the guys slinging pizzas? Are they supposed to telecommute while laying bricks?
Lisa Daglian, some 'executive director' at a 'commuter advocacy group', is whining about how people 'need to get where they need to go'. You don't say, Lisa? Maybe you should tell that to the union thugs holding the city hostage.
The MTA says the union's demands will force fare hikes. Gerard Bringmann, some 'chair' of the 'LIRR Commuter Council', is actually speaking some sense: 'It will come at the expense of our riders who will see next year’s 4% fare increase doubled to 8%'. Finally, someone gets it.
So, what's the solution? Crush the unions? Probably not politically feasible. But maybe, just maybe, we should stop treating these guys like sacred cows. They're not fighting for the soul of America; they're fighting for bigger paychecks at your expense. The LIRR strike is just another reminder that the system is rigged, and the only way to win is to not play the game.
