EPA's Got the Gas: Trump to Roll Back Woke EtO Regulations
Biden's EPA overreach on ethylene oxide set to be flushed, because who needs affordable medical supplies when you can virtue signal?

Alright, folks, gather 'round. The Swamp is at it again, this time with the holy sacrament of ethylene oxide (EtO). Apparently, the Left's been hyperventilating about this stuff, claiming it's, like, 60 times more cancer-y than we thought. Which, okay, maybe it is. But let's be real, everything gives you cancer these days. Water? Cancer. Sunshine? Cancer. Wokeness? Definitely cancer.
So, Biden's EPA, bless their perpetually offended hearts, slapped down a bunch of regulations in 2024 that would have strangled the EtO industry faster than you can say "supply chain crisis." We're talking about a 90% reduction in emissions. Ninety percent! You know what else is down 90%? My faith in government after the last election.
Now, Trump's EPA is stepping in to clean up the mess. They're looking to rescind these ridiculous regulations, which, naturally, sends the eco-left into a meltdown. Erik Olson from the NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council – sounds like a bunch of tree-hugging socialists, am I right?) is already screaming about how this is going to "gut cancer protections." Relax, Erik, maybe go outside and touch some grass. The NRDC is a plaintiff in a lawsuit concerning EtO. The triggered libs always gotta sue.
Let's break it down. EtO is used to sterilize, like, 20 billion medical devices a year. Pacemakers, syringes, the whole shebang. Without it, we're back to boiling scalpels in a witch's cauldron. And guess who's gonna pay the price? You, the average American, when your medical bills skyrocket because everything's gotta be sterilized with unicorn tears. All because some virtue-signaling bureaucrats in Washington think they know better than everyone else.
The Harvard report claims the move would save companies $47 million annually. Which, shockingly, is a good thing. Money saved is money that can be used to, I don't know, hire more people, lower prices, or maybe even invest in R&D to find a better way to sterilize stuff. But nah, the Left just wants to bankrupt everyone into submission.
They conveniently ignore the societal cost of a healthcare system crippled by regulations designed to make them feel good about themselves. The Clean Air Act mandates that the EPA conduct a “residual risk review” of toxic chemicals within eight years after they are designated as hazardous pollutants. The agency initially set emission standards for EtO, but clearly those weren't woke enough for the Biden administration.
