Clown Show: Establishment Elites Cry Wolf Over Fake 'War' Narrative to Save Their Careers
Redwan Hussein and Getachew Reda are trying to blackpill the public with a low-tier op-ed designed to keep the foreign aid grift flowing.

Just when you thought the political class couldn't get any more predictable, we get a fresh dose of regime-tier fearmongering. National Security Advisor Redwan Hussein and Tigray Interim boss Getachew Reda have teamed up to write a massive blackpill of an op-ed, weeping that Ethiopia is about to get 'dragged into war.' It’s a classic move straight out of the establishment playbook: when your domestic policies are failing, just tell everyone a giant, unavoidable war is right around the corner to keep them compliant.
Let’s look at the players here. Redwan and Getachew were supposed to be bitter enemies during the Tigray conflict, but now they’re co-authoring doom-pieces like best friends. The Pretoria Agreement of 2022 was supposed to be the ultimate triumph of diplomacy, but instead of focusing on actual governance, these elites are busy writing alarmist fan-fiction about new conflicts. Critics have quickly pointed out that the entire premise of Ethiopia being 'dragged' into war is completely fake and gay—a total misdirection from the real issues.
The truth is, a sovereign country doesn't just slip and fall into a war like it’s a puddle. If there's conflict, it’s because the politicians in charge messed up or actively wanted it. By claiming the country is being 'dragged' into war, the establishment is trying to absolve itself of any future blunders. It’s the ultimate pre-emptive excuse: 'Hey, don't blame us for the inflation, corruption, and bad infrastructure, we’re being dragged into a war we can’t control!'
There's also the massive international grift to consider. Nothing gets the globalist NGOs and foreign donors to open their checkbooks faster than a couple of high-ranking African officials crying about an impending humanitarian catastrophe. The 'threat of war' narrative is prime bait for securing more international aid, which inevitably gets funneled into elite bank accounts while the average citizen gets absolutely nothing.
Meanwhile, the federal government is actually trying to push through economic reforms and court foreign investors who aren't afraid of a little risk. But how is anyone supposed to build a business or invest in the country when the national security advisor is literally publishing articles saying the whole place is about to blow up? It’s peak midwit behavior from officials who can't see past the next news cycle.
Instead of falling for this low-tier narrative, the public needs to see this op-ed for what it is: a desperate attempt by establishment actors to remain relevant and keep their grip on power. Ethiopia isn't being dragged into a war; it’s being dragged down by an elite class that prefers crisis-mongering to actual competence.
