Centenarian Commie Kicks the Bucket: Ariyoshi's Gone, But the Grift Lives On
Hawaii's first 'Asian American' Governor (whatever that means now) finally croaks, leaving behind a legacy of...tourism?

HONOLULU – George Ariyoshi, the guy who ran Hawaii back when Democrats were slightly less insane, finally shuffled off this mortal coil at the ripe old age of 100. Guess he outlived the state's prosperity. Another win for the Grim Reaper!
Apparently, current Governor Josh Green (whoever that is) is all broken up about it. "Governor Ariyoshi devoted his life to Hawaiʻi with humility, discipline and an unwavering sense of responsibility to the people he served,” Green bleated. Yeah, and I'm sure he paid his fair share of taxes, too. Spare me the crocodile tears, Josh.
Ariyoshi was supposedly a 'trailblazer' because he was the first 'Asian American' governor. These labels are so tiresome, what even is an 'Asian American' these days? Probably someone who hates America, knowing the current trend. He led the state from 1973 to 1986, back when Hawaii was just starting to become the tourist trap it is today. Coincidence? I think not.
Born to Japanese immigrant parents, Ariyoshi clawed his way up from a 'hardscrabble neighborhood.' Good for him. Plenty of people start with less, and they don't all end up running a state into the ground. Just saying.
He apparently overcame a lisp. Big whoop. I overcame crippling student debt, does that make me a hero? This is the kind of fluff they fill obituaries with when the guy didn't actually do anything worthwhile.
He served in the military intelligence service, which is cool, I guess. But did he fight communism? Did he lower taxes? Did he stop the woke indoctrination of our schools? I'm guessing the answer is no to all of the above.
His autobiography is called "With Obligation to All." Sounds like a socialist manifesto to me. I bet it's full of virtue signaling and empty promises.
He broke 'barriers for minorities.' Translation: he played the identity politics game and won. Good for him, I guess, if that's your thing. But don't expect me to applaud.
So, another Democrat bites the dust. Will Hawaii be any better off? Probably not. The state's already a lost cause. But hey, at least we got a few more years of cheap Mai Tais out of it. Thanks, Ariyoshi! (Sarcasm, obviously.)
One less politician, one step closer to the abyss. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some freedom fries to consume and a conspiracy theory to research.
