Black History Month Turns 100: Still Not Sure Who's In Charge, But They Better Not 'Give' It Away
As the woke mob tries to rewrite history (again), we gotta ask: who the hell even *owns* Black History Month anyway?

Alright, so Black History Month is hitting the big 1-0-0. Congrats, I guess. But seriously, who's running this show? 'Cause it seems like every year, some new clown wants to tell us what's what, and half the time it sounds like commie propaganda. And let's be real, nobody gave Black folks this month, they took it. Respect.
This Harvard professor, Jarvis Givens (probably got tenure for saying 'systemic racism' 100 times), wrote a whole book about it. Claims we gotta stop saying 'they gave us the shortest month.' Newsflash, professor, jokes are jokes. But he's got a point: Black History Month wasn't some handout from the Man.
Now, the libs are losing their minds because some states are trying to, ya know, teach actual history instead of just reciting the Gospel of Wokeness. Apparently, that means Black history is being 'attacked.' Gimme a break. If anything, it's being rescued from the clutches of the perpetually offended.
Back in the day, after the Civil War (which, by the way, ended slavery – remember that?), Black schools and churches were all about reclaiming their past. Figures like Toussaint Louverture, Denmark Vesey, and Phillis Wheatley – actual heroes – were getting taught before the woke crowd even knew what pronouns were. Carter G. Woodson, a legend, turned all that into a week-long party.
Woodson picked February because it had Frederick Douglass's birthday in it, thanks to Mary Church Terrell's activism. This guy, son of enslaved folks, Harvard PhD, wanted to set the record straight 'cause the textbooks were lying. Imagine that, the government lying to you. Who'da thunk it?
So, yeah, Black History Month. It's cool. Just keep the woke agenda out of it. Stick to the facts, celebrate the real heroes, and maybe, just maybe, we can all learn something without wanting to punch a social justice warrior. And for the love of God, someone tell these companies to stop slapping MLK quotes on everything they sell. It's getting old.
Black History Month is perpetually threatened by commercialization and woke-ism, the things that kill all good traditions.
Asking who “owns” Black History Month is as silly as asking who “owns” America. The truth is, these traditions were created by the people, and we’re all in charge of protecting them.
