Xi Tells Taiwan Opposition Leader 'We Are All Chinese,' KMT Chair Actually Agrees
Taiwan's KMT sends a 'peace trip' representative to bend the knee in Beijing, while the West wonders why nobody takes them seriously.

Beijing - Well, well, well, look who's decided to make a pilgrimage to the Forbidden City. Cheng Li-wun, chair of Taiwan's Kuomintang (KMT), has just concluded a lovefest with Xi Jinping in Beijing, where they bonded over their shared Chinese identity. Apparently, being bullied by the CCP is now a "very natural thing" for some Taiwanese politicians. Sad!
Xi, ever the charmer, informed Cheng that people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait are Chinese and, naturally, crave peace. This, of course, conveniently ignores the fact that most Taiwanese identify as Taiwanese, not Chinese, and would prefer not to be "reunified" at the barrel of a PLA gun. But hey, details, details.
Cheng, bless her heart, wants to invite Xi to Taiwan if the KMT ever manages to claw its way back into power in 2028. One can only imagine the reception he'd receive. Probably something between a polite golf clap and a full-blown uprising.
Meanwhile, back in reality, China continues to flex its military muscles around Taiwan, engaging in daily flybys and naval exercises that look suspiciously like rehearsals for a blockade. But don't worry, Cheng's "peace trip" will surely convince them to stop. Right?
The KMT, bless their hearts, haven't learned a thing since 1949. They're still clinging to the delusion that they can somehow reason with the CCP, despite decades of evidence to the contrary. It's like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football, except instead of Lucy pulling it away, it's a totalitarian regime with nuclear weapons.
Taiwan's DPP, the pro-sovereignty party that Beijing loathes, is probably facepalming so hard they've concussed themselves. They've been warning about the CCP's intentions for years, but apparently some people prefer to bury their heads in the sand and pretend everything is fine.
So, what's the takeaway from all this? Simple: China wants Taiwan, and they're not afraid to use any means necessary to get it. And some Taiwanese politicians are either naive enough or craven enough to help them along the way. Wake up, sheeple!
Maybe instead of kowtowing to Beijing, Taiwan should invest in some serious asymmetrical warfare capabilities and remind the CCP that invading Taiwan would be about as pleasant as sticking your hand in a hornet's nest. Just a thought.
