Woke Lawmakers Triggered by 'Economic Bombing' in Cuba, Demand End to Mean Tweets (aka Embargo)
Two virtue-signaling congresspeople return from their all-expenses-paid Havana vacation, whining about the 'energy blockade' like it's all Uncle Sam's fault, not Castro's commie paradise.

Okay, so two of our esteemed lawmakers (who probably still think Che Guevara was a misunderstood artist) just got back from their Cuban vacay... I mean, official visit. And guess what? They're clutching their pearls about the 'economic bombing' happening down there. Yeah, the same 'economic bombing' that's been in place for, oh, sixty-plus years?
Look, I get it. No one likes seeing people suffer. But let's not pretend that the reason Cuba's economy is in the toilet is solely because of the U.S. embargo. Maybe, just maybe, decades of communist mismanagement, cronyism, and a complete lack of economic freedom have something to do with it. Ya think?
These lawmakers are calling for a 'permanent solution' to Cuba's crises. Translation: they want to lift the embargo, throw money at the problem, and then pat themselves on the back for being such compassionate heroes. Never mind that this money will probably end up lining the pockets of the same corrupt officials who've been oppressing the Cuban people for generations. Sounds like a real solution.
Let's be real, the Cuban regime is a bunch of dinosaurs clinging to power. They've squashed dissent, stifled innovation, and turned a once-vibrant island into a socialist wasteland. And now we're supposed to feel sorry for them because they can't get enough gas for their vintage Ladas? Cry me a river.
And speaking of gas, these energy shortages? Surprise, surprise, the Cuban government is terrible at managing resources. They can't even keep the lights on, let alone run a modern economy. But hey, let's blame America! It's always easier to point the finger than to take responsibility for your own failures. Right, Fidel?
Maybe, just maybe, instead of bending over backward to appease a communist dictatorship, we should be supporting the Cuban people who are yearning for freedom. We should be empowering entrepreneurs, promoting independent media, and helping to build a civil society that can challenge the regime from within. But that would require actual courage and conviction. Much easier to just virtue-signal and call for an end to the 'economic bombing.'
I'm not saying we should just ignore the suffering in Cuba. But let's not be naive about the root causes of the problem. The U.S. embargo is a symptom, not the disease. The disease is communism, and the only cure is freedom. So, before these lawmakers start dismantling decades of policy, maybe they should read a history book or two. And maybe take a basic economics class. Just a thought.
So next time you hear some woke politician blathering on about the evils of the U.S. embargo, remember: they're not actually trying to help the Cuban people. They're just trying to score cheap political points and feel good about themselves. Wake up, sheeple!
And one last thing: if these lawmakers are so concerned about the 'economic bombing' in Cuba, maybe they should donate their own salaries to the cause. Put your money where your mouth is, snowflakes!
