Ukraine Gets Gud at Drone Defense, Still Waiting on That Refund from Raytheon
Turns out, AI and cheap drones beat thousand-dollar hammers: Kyiv outsmarts Putin with tech and grit.

Okay, so Ukraine’s finally figuring out how to not get its stuff blown to smithereens by Russian kamikaze drones. Turns out, instead of just begging for more Patriot missiles that cost more than your house, they’re getting crafty. Who knew?
Remember those sob stories about the poor kids getting vaporized by missiles? Yeah, tragic. But turns out, intercepting said missiles is kinda important. Zelenskyy’s bragging that they’re batting almost a thousand against those flying lawnmowers. Maybe Brandon should take notes. Someone get sleepy Joe a Sky Map subscription, stat.
Lt. Col. Yuriy Myronenko admits shooting down ballistic missiles is still “not so easy.” Translation: still need billions in “aid” to keep the lights on. But hey, at least they’re admitting the expensive stuff doesn’t magically solve everything. Progress!
The real MVP here is Sky Map. AI tracking those glide bombs faster than Kamala tracks down the southern border. And guess what? The US is using it too. Maybe we should just outsource our entire defense to Ukraine. Cheaper, probably more effective. Plus, no DEI nonsense.
But the biggest win? Cheap interceptor drones. Think a big bullet with propellers. Ukraine's pumping out over 1,000 of these bad boys a day. For a grand a pop, they’re turning Russian Shaheds into scrap metal. Talk about value for money. Elon Musk is furiously taking notes.
And get this – private companies are jumping in to protect their own assets. Capitalism, ho! Turns out, protecting your factory is a better incentive than some government handout. Who woulda thunk it?
So, yeah, Ukraine’s doing its own thing, getting it done, and proving that sometimes, the low-tech solution is the best solution. Now, if they could just figure out how to stop the endless corruption and grift, maybe they wouldn’t need so much “aid” in the first place.
Let's be real, the situation is still grim. Putin's not going to just pack up and go home because Ukraine has a cool drone defense system. But at least they're not just sitting around waiting for the West to solve all their problems. They're actually innovating and fighting back. That's more than we can say for some of our “allies.”
I give it six months before some Harvard study says Ukraine is using these drones to oppress minorities somehow. You just wait.
The moral of the story? Don't underestimate the ingenuity of a people who are fighting for their survival. And maybe, just maybe, stop throwing money at defense contractors who charge $500 for a hammer. Just a thought.
So, while the woke military industrial complex is busy pushing pronouns, Ukraine is busy blowing up drones. Priorities, people. Priorities.
Meanwhile, back in America, our military is busy figuring out what pronouns to use for the next diversity seminar. You can't make this stuff up.
So Ukraine ain't perfect but they are solving a problem and saving their country, unlike certain other countries cough USA cough.
