Ten Years Later: Establishment Still Having a Massive Cope Session Over Brexit
A decade after regular people handed the globalist elite a historic L, the media is still blaming every minor inconvenience on the 2016 vote.
Ten years ago, a slim majority of based British voters decided they had seen enough of Brussels' bloated bureaucracy and voted to exit the European Union. Fast forward a decade, and the entire political-media apparatus is still locked in an absolute cope-and-seethe cycle, desperately trying to blame every single economic hiccup, bad weather day, and administrative delay on the historic 2016 decision.
Let’s be real: the establishment has never forgiven the public for refusing to follow their pre-approved script. Before the referendum, the 'Project Fear' crowd promised immediate economic collapse, emergency budgets, and practically a plague of locusts if 'Leave' won. When the UK economy didn't immediately slide into the Atlantic Ocean, the goalposts were shifted, initiating a ten-year campaign of blaming Brexit for structural issues that have plagued the country for decades.
The real disruption over the last ten years wasn't caused by the vote itself, but by a hostile political class that dragged its feet for years trying to reverse, dilute, or delay the exit. We watched years of parliamentary performance art, where politicians cried about customs forms instead of actually securing the borders and cutting red tape. The administrative friction we see today is the direct result of bureaucratic incompetence, not the concept of national sovereignty.
Meanwhile, the corporate media love to run articles about labor shortages in low-skilled sectors as if it's a tragedy. In reality, ending the infinite supply of cheap foreign labor forced corporate bosses to actually consider paying local workers a decent wage instead of importing cheap labor to keep their margins high. The establishment is mad because the working class finally got a shred of leverage.
And let's look at the European Union itself. The same commentators weeping over Brexit conveniently ignore the absolute regulatory gridlock, sluggish growth, and democratic deficit currently choking continental Europe. While the EU continues to drown in its own rules, a sovereign UK has the freedom to cut regulations and sign its own trade deals—if the political class in Westminster actually had the spine to do it.
The constant whining about Northern Ireland and the Windsor Framework is another classic establishment distraction. The issue was never about trade logistics; it was about using a border dispute as a political lever to punish the UK for leaving the club. Despite all the doomsday framing, communities are continuing to adapt, and life goes on.
A decade later, the narrative remains the same. The globalists are mad they lost control of the steering wheel. Brexit was a massive wake-up call to the elites that they don't own the country, and no amount of media hand-wringing is going to change the fact that sovereignty is back, and it's here to stay.
