Spirit Airlines Goes Belly Up: Good Riddance?
Another woke corporation bites the dust? Maybe this woke mind virus is impacting the bottom line after all.

So, Spirit Airlines folded like a cheap tent. 34 years, poof! 17,000 jobless. Cry me a river. Maybe if they spent less time virtue signaling and more time, you know, actually running a decent airline, they wouldn't be in this mess.
Remember when airlines were about getting you from point A to point B without treating you like a criminal or lecturing you on pronouns? Now it's all woke this and woke that. ESG scores matter more than, like, flying. No wonder they're crashing and burning. Literally, metaphorically...both, probably.
The free market, baby! It's brutal, but it works. Darwinism in action. If you can't hack it, you get culled. Spirit couldn't hack it. Maybe they should have focused on, oh I don't know, actually flying people places without extra charges for breathing instead of DEI initiatives. Just a thought.
And let's be honest, Spirit was always garbage. Cramped seats, hidden fees, delays galore. You get what you pay for, right? But still, 17,000 people out of work. That sucks. Especially when the reason could be virtue signaling instead of building a good business. But hey, they probably got some good ESG points along the way. Meanwhile, the economy continues its nose dive.
This whole thing smells like another case of get woke, go broke. Companies used to care about profit. Now, they’re all about virtue signaling to appease the Twitterati. Newsflash: actual customers don't give a damn about your pronouns. They just want to get where they're going without getting nickel-and-dimed to death and being lectured.
I'm not saying wokeism caused Spirit to fail. But I'm not not saying it. Correlation ain't causation, but it's damn suspicious when you see this happening across multiple sectors.
Time to dust off that resume, former Spirit employees. Maybe learn a trade. Plumbing doesn’t require a DEI consultant, as far as I know. Or maybe start your own airline. One that focuses on, like, actual flying, not political grandstanding. America needs more entrepreneurs, not more woke corporations.
So, yeah. Spirit's gone. Another one bites the dust. The beatings will continue until morale improves. And maybe, just maybe, other companies will take notice and realize that pandering to the woke mob isn't a viable business strategy. Maybe. Don't count on it. Still, there might be a silver lining in this thing after all if other companies take heed.
The market has spoken. And the market doesn't care about your feelings. It only cares about value. Spirit forgot that. And now they're paying the price. Maybe the execs can find work teaching DEI at some failing liberal arts college. Karma's a real thing, you know?
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go buy a six-pack and watch some old episodes of South Park. It's cheaper than flying anywhere these days.
