Sydney – Buckle up, buttercups, because the Reserve Bank of Australia is about to hit you with another rate hike. Yeah, the same guys who told you inflation was “transitory” are now pretending to fix it by making your mortgage payments even more unbearable. Third time's the charm, right?

Apparently, these economic geniuses think raising interest rates is the only way to combat inflation, even though the current surge is mostly because of oil prices, which are going crazy thanks to that Brandon over in the White House and his woke Middle East policy. So, basically, they're punishing you for global events they can't control. Sounds about right.

Deutsche Bank's chief economist, Phil O’Donaghoe, even admits that monetary policy can't do squat about oil prices in the short term. But hey, gotta “send a message” that they're “serious about the inflation target.” Because nothing screams seriousness like screwing over homeowners. These clowns think they can gaslight us into believing that less money in our pockets will somehow solve the world's problems. They literally think we are NPCs.

RBC Capital Markets' Robert Thompson points out that inflation was already “uncomfortably high” before the latest oil shenanigans. Which begs the question: what were they doing about it then? Oh, right, probably printing more money to fund some woke pet project. And of course the old RBA Board voted with a 5-4 squeaker last time. Can't even get a consensus on robbing us blind. Sad!

The RBA wants to dampen demand by raising rates, which means businesses will struggle to pass on costs, and everyone gets poorer. Because that's how you fix things, apparently. Johnathan McMenamin from Barrenjoey says they can't just sit back and let inflation self-correct. No, they have to actively make things worse. If the plan doesn't work maybe they can all start coding?

So get ready to tighten your belts, folks. The elites are on a mission to prove they're “doing something” about inflation, even if that something is completely useless and actively harmful. Remember, this is for your own good. Just don't ask whose good that actually is. It's definitely not yours. Now go consoom some more propaganda and stop asking questions. We are all doomed. FML.
