South Carolina GOP Backs Down From Meme War, Clyburn's District Spared
Trump-backed redistricting plan gets BTFO'd by state senate, leaving Dem stalwart Clyburn untouched...for now.

Columbia, S.C. — The South Carolina GOP just pulled a classic “hold my beer…nah, I’m good” move, scrapping a redistricting plan that would've given Rep. Jim Clyburn, D-S.C., a serious case of the vapors. Looks like the meme war will have to wait.
The proposed map, allegedly blessed by Lord Emperor Trump himself, was supposed to carve up Clyburn's district like a Thanksgiving turkey. But the state senate decided to rage quit before things got too spicy. Apparently, even in South Carolina, some Republicans have a functioning cringe detector.
Clyburn, ever the professional, took to X to drop some truth bombs: "We have someone in the White House that wants Republicans to ignore the Constitutional principles for which this current map was drawn. A critical number of Republicans did not believe in putting a man over the law. Today, members of the South Carolina State Senate stood up for the constitutional principles that they say they believe in." Translation: Even he was surprised they didn't completely sell out.
State officials whined about delayed House primaries if they redrew the lines. Yeah, sure. That's totally the reason. It's definitely not because they realized they were about to unleash a PR nightmare on themselves.
Republican state Sen. Richard Cash bleated something about not wanting to "stop an election that is already underway." As if these swamp creatures ever cared about what the little people think.
Claire Wofford, a College of Charleston professor, dropped some knowledge, calling Clyburn a “living legend.” She also pointed out that this whole debacle was probably just Trump flexing his increasingly flabby muscles. South Carolina's got a history of saying “hold my sweet tea” to national pressure. They seceded, remember? It's in their blood to be contrarian.
And let's be real, splitting up Clyburn's district could have backfired spectacularly, creating a “dummymander” situation where the GOP accidentally snatches defeat from the jaws of victory. South Carolina's demographics are shifting, but you still gotta be careful when messing with a political institution like Clyburn.
So, for now, Clyburn lives to meme another day. The libs are celebrating, the MAGA-heads are seething, and the rest of us are just waiting for the next chapter in this glorious dumpster fire we call American politics.
This isn't over. The Left will continue their woke agenda, and the Right will eventually find a more subtle way to strike back. Stay tuned, folks. The clown show is far from finished.
