Shapiro Stays Woke in PA While 2028 Hopefuls Chase Clout – Based or Cringe?
Is Shapiro playing 4D chess by focusing on Pennsylvania, or is he just LARPing as a competent governor while the rest of the squad is campaigning for 2028?
So, Shapiro's hanging out in Pennsylvania, right? Not exactly lighting up the national stage like some of these other 2028 hopefuls. They're out here collecting endorsements, glad-handing donors, and generally LARPing as serious presidential contenders while Shapiro's, like, actually governing. Is this peak based behavior or is he just content with being the slightly less annoying governor?
The smart money says he's playing the long game. Let everyone else fight over the scraps of media attention while he quietly fixes (or at least doesn't completely break) Pennsylvania. Then, BAM! He swoops in with a solid track record and steals the nomination from some charisma-vacuum who peaked on cable news.
Of course, there's also the possibility that he's just not that into the whole presidential thing. Maybe he's happy being a big fish in a small pond. Or maybe he realizes that the current political climate is a dumpster fire and wants no part of it. Can't blame him, honestly. Who wants to deal with Twitter trolls and woke activists when you could be, like, fixing potholes or something?
But let's be real, this is politics. Everyone's got an angle. Maybe Shapiro's angle is to be the 'adult in the room' while everyone else is busy throwing tantrums. Or maybe he's just waiting for the right moment to unleash his inner kraken. Either way, it's more entertaining than watching another politician pretend to care about 'the American people'.
Historically, governors have used their state as a springboard to the White House. Think Reagan, Clinton, Bush. But they also spent a lot of time pandering to the national audience. Shapiro's skipping that part, which is either genius or incredibly naive. Time will tell.
Is Shapiro avoiding the national stage to avoid scrutiny? Probably. The less you say, the less they can use against you. Classic political move. But it also means he's not exactly shaping the national narrative. Which could be a problem if he ever decides to run for president.
The establishment loves a good narrative. Shapiro's gotta craft one. 'Competent governor who fixes things' is a good start, but it needs more meme potential. Maybe he can team up with Elon Musk and rename Pennsylvania 'X-ylvania'. Now that's a campaign slogan I can get behind.
Look, the dude's playing it cool. Maybe too cool. He needs to show some fire, some passion, something other than mild competence. Nobody wins the presidency by being mildly competent. You need to be either a charismatic demagogue or a master manipulator. Or both.
So, is Shapiro based or cringe? The jury's still out. But at least he's doing something different. Which, in this political landscape, is a win in itself. Now, back to doomscrolling on Twitter.
Let's not forget the silent majority quietly hoping someone, anyone, will stop the clown show. Shapiro's quiet approach might just resonate.
Keep an eye on PA. If things start looking up, Shapiro might just be the dark horse this country needs, or at least the dark horse we deserve.
Meanwhile, I'm just waiting for the inevitable Shapiro/DeSantis cage match. Pay-per-view, obviously.
