Senate 'Scorekeeper' Blocks Trump's Swanky Ballroom, Security Upgrades
The Deep State wins again as some unelected bureaucrat kneecaps Trump's White House glow-up using arcane Senate rules nobody understands.

WASHINGTON – So, the Senate parliamentarian – that's Washington-speak for 'unelected swamp creature who decides what we can and can't do' – rejected a billion-dollar allocation for White House security and Trump's totally-not-vanity ballroom. Apparently, it violates some budget rules. Rules, shmules. When does Trump ever follow rules, amirite?
This is just another example of the Deep State working overtime to sabotage everything Trump touches. It's like they're allergic to MAGA or something. The $1 billion was supposed to be part of a $72 billion package for border security – which, last time I checked, was also a top priority for We The People.
But no, gotta stop the ballroom. Because if Trump has a nice ballroom, then the terrorists win, or something. I dunno. The logic is about as airtight as a screen door on a submarine.
Apparently, the Senate parliamentarian, Elizabeth MacDonough, ruled that the security funding doesn't fit the super-special rules for budget reconciliation. Budget reconciliation? Sounds like something out of a Harry Potter book. Who even understands this garbage?
Some RINO named John Curtis is whining about how Trump said the ballroom would be privately funded. Okay, boomer, maybe Trump changed his mind. Ever think of that? Besides, what's a billion dollars between friends?
The proposal included $220 million for “White House complex hardening,” including all sorts of cool spy stuff like bulletproof glass and drone detection. Sounds awesome. But no, gotta protect the peasants from… bulletproof glass? Drone detection? I'm lost.
MacDonough, the parliamentarian, was an advisor to Al Gore during the Bush v. Gore debacle. Surprise, surprise. Another swamp dweller with an axe to grind. It’s always the ones you least expect.
Sen. Merkley, a Democrat from Oregon, is already licking his chops, promising to block any revisions. Of course he is. The Dems would rather see the White House fall into a sinkhole than give Trump a win. Literally. And not literally (but you know what I mean).
So, what now? Well, the GOP can try to rewrite the bill, but that'll probably just lead to more delays and more obstruction. Or they could try to pass the funding through regular order, which requires 60 votes. Good luck with that when the Democrats are foaming at the mouth to stop literally everything.
In the end, this is just another reminder that Washington is a cesspool of political gamesmanship, where nothing ever gets done and the people lose. So, what else is new?
But hey, at least we got some good memes out of it, right? Time to pour another glass of lib tears.
