Rory 'Woke' McIlroy Still Good at Golf, Shocks No One; Masters Update
Defending champ shares lead, proving even virtue signalers can occasionally do something right – though don't expect him to #WalkAway anytime soon.

So, Rory McIlroy, the guy who spends half his time lecturing everyone about... well, whatever the woke outrage du jour is, is apparently still pretty good at golf. Shocker. He's tied for the lead at the Masters with some dude named Sam Burns after shooting a 67. Guess even preachy elites can occasionally perform when they're not busy virtue signaling.
He even admitted to being "nervous" on the first tee. Imagine that – a multi-millionaire athlete, who probably flies private and lectures you about your carbon footprint, actually feeling pressure. The horror!
"I was nervous, I was anxious just like I always am on that 1st tee," McIlroy whined. Translation: "Please feel sorry for me, I'm incredibly wealthy and talented, but sometimes things are hard!"
Meanwhile, Sam Burns, the aforementioned dude sharing the lead, is probably just happy to be there. He's never exactly lit up Augusta before, so this is a nice change of pace. Let's hope he's not secretly woke too.
McIlroy, fresh off his participation in last year's woke Olympics, apparently thinks winning one Masters makes it easier to win another. Maybe he should spend less time lecturing and more time practicing. Just a thought.
He also dropped this gem: "But I think it’s easier for me to make those swings and not worry about where it goes when I know that I can go to the champions’ locker room, put my Green Jacket on and have a Coke Zero at the end of the day." Oh, the privilege! He’s basically saying, “Even if I screw up, I'm still rich and important.”
Justin Rose, who choked last year to McIlroy, is still hanging around, shooting a 70. Probably plotting his revenge. Or maybe he's just busy composing his next LinkedIn post about diversity and inclusion. Who knows?
Look, McIlroy is a talented golfer. No one's denying that. But spare us the woke lectures. Just play golf, make millions, and try not to ruin the game with your incessant virtue signaling. Is that too much to ask?
This Masters thing, it's just a reminder that even the most irritating social justice warriors can still excel in fields that require actual skill. Doesn't make them any less annoying, though.
The real question is: will McIlroy thank BLM if he wins again? Stay tuned, folks. This could get ugly.
