Pope Leo XIV Tells Woke US Leaders To Calm Down About Iran, No Divine Mandate For Your Clown World
His Holiness chimes in, telling American exceptionalists to pump the brakes on the Iran war's 'God told me so' justification.
VATICAN CITY – Okay, so Pope Leo XIV just dropped a truth bomb on the perpetually online U.S. leadership, specifically calling out the whole 'God told me to bomb Iran' narrative that's been making the rounds. Apparently, even the Vatican thinks this level of cope is a bit much.
Look, we get it. America is exceptional. But framing every foreign policy blunder as some kind of divine crusade is peak cringe. It's giving strong 'guy who unironically uses #blessed on Instagram' vibes. We’re talking levels of cope usually reserved for Soylent addicts or Twitter blue checks.
This ain't your grandpa's crusade. More like a half-baked attempt to justify another forever war with oil money and the blood of young patriots. The 'just war' theory? More like the 'just another excuse to line the pockets of defense contractors' theory. Remember when Bush got the memo from God to invade Iraq? Good times, good times.
The Pope's not saying Iran is a cuddly teddy bear, alright? They're probably up to no good, just like everyone else in that part of the world. But claiming God wants you to drop bombs on Tehran is a bit much. It's like saying God wants you to buy NFTs – sure, maybe, but probably not.
This whole situation is reminding me of that meme with the dog surrounded by fire: 'This is fine.' Except the fire is a proxy war, the dog is the U.S., and the phrase, 'This is fine,' is 'God told us to do it.'
The libs will probably spin this as some kind of victory for 'tolerance' and 'peace,' while the neocons will scream about the Pope being a secret socialist or something. But really, it's just common sense. Maybe, just maybe, we should try a different approach than blindly following the voices in our heads.
The Vatican might have some influence on global affairs (allegedly), but at the end of the day, it's up to us to filter the propaganda and make our own decisions. Don't let the talking heads on cable news convince you that war is inevitable or that God is on our side. Do some actual research, form your own opinions, and remember that the only person you should be blindly following is yourself.
This is the way. Or maybe it isn't. Who knows? But at least we're not pretending that God is our personal war strategist. That’s just, like, bad optics, man.
Besides, if God did want us to invade Iran, wouldn't he just, like, send a sign? A burning bush, maybe? Or at least a strongly worded tweet?
