Platner Goes Full Socialist, Promises to 'Come After' Based Bezos Over Tax Take
Maine commie-symp Graham Platner whines about Bezos not wanting to fund his free-stuff agenda, proving once again that Democrats hate success.

Portland, ME - Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner, fresh off his cosplaying as a blue-collar hero, has declared war on Jeff Bezos, the billionaire founder of Amazon. Why? Because Bezos dared to suggest that maybe, just maybe, confiscating wealth from productive people isn't the best way to solve all of society's problems.
During a recent appearance on MS NOW with his buddy Bernie Sanders (the guy who owns three houses but calls himself a socialist), Platner accused Bezos of being greedy and selfish for not wanting to pay even MORE taxes.
"I think it’s abject nonsense," Platner whined. "I think that’s what somebody says when they don’t want to see their taxes go up."
Platner's entire campaign is built on the tired old trope of soak-the-rich. He promises to tax billionaires into oblivion and use the money to fund his socialist wish list of free healthcare, free childcare, and paying teachers what they're "worth" (according to him, anyway). You know, the usual.
"There is absolutely no question if we target the wealth where it has been hoarded and we pull it back into our system and put it into social programs like health care, child care and paying teachers what they are worth, we will absolutely improve the lives of working Americans and, quite frankly, improve our society as a whole," Platner bloviated. Translation: Give me power and I'll take your money to buy votes.
Bezos, bless his capitalist heart, actually made some sense. He pointed out that even if you doubled his taxes, it wouldn't magically solve all the problems. "If people want me to pay more billions, right, then let’s have that debate, but don’t pretend you know that that’s going to solve the problem," Bezos said. "You could double the taxes I pay and it’s not going to help that teacher in Queens. I promise you."
He even dared to suggest that maybe, just maybe, the government's insane spending habits are the real problem. Gasp! The audacity!
Of course, Platner couldn't handle the truth. He accused Bezos of spreading "propaganda" to protect himself and his "crony friends." "I think what he [Bezos] is pitching is propaganda," Platner said. "It’s meant to protect himself and protect his crony friends. And we’re going to come after them for it." Translation: I'm jealous and I want your money.
This whole charade is just another example of the left's never-ending class warfare. They demonize successful people, promising to steal their wealth and redistribute it to their chosen constituencies. It's a recipe for disaster, and it's time we called them out on it. The sheer gall of these people to demand Bezos’s money to line their own pockets is astounding.
Next time you hear a politician promising to tax the rich, remember what they're really saying: "I want your money, and I'll say anything to get it."
