Okay, Boomer… Texas Dem Gets Zoomer'd: Menefee KOs Green
The kids are alright (maybe?): Old Guard Democrat Al Green gets yeeted by newcomer Christian Menefee in Texas primary.
So, the unthinkable happened. Al Green, a Democrat who's probably seen more decades than most of us have seen meme cycles, got absolutely bodied in the Texas primary by Christian Menefee, one of the newest members of Congress. It's like watching Yoda get beatboxed by a toddler – unexpected and slightly disturbing, but kinda hilarious.
Green, bless his heart, probably thought his incumbency was an ironclad shield. Turns out, voters have the attention span of a goldfish and are easily distracted by shiny new objects. Or, you know, candidates who don't remember when the internet was just a twinkle in Al Gore's eye.
Menefee's victory is either a sign of the apocalypse (the leftist hordes are rising!) or just further proof that nobody cares about experience anymore. Maybe they're just hoping Menefee knows how to use TikTok to fight inflation or something. Who knows? Politics these days are weirder than a Pepe the Frog NFT.
The libs are probably popping champagne bottles right now, thinking this is some kind of progressive revolution. Relax, snowflakes. It's just a primary. There's still a general election to lose spectacularly. But if he wins, maybe we can expect the Green New Deal: Texas Edition. Yeehaw?
The real question is, what does this mean for the future? Will we see more young blood challenging the geriatrics in Washington? Will AOC finally get a nemesis who can clap back with Gen Z slang? Only time (and the next election cycle) will tell.
For now, let's just enjoy the schadenfreude of watching the establishment get overthrown by someone young enough to be their grandson. It's the circle of life, Simba. Or, you know, the circle of political backstabbing. Same thing, really.
This just proves that no matter how comfy you get in your swamp, somebody's always waiting to drain it. Metaphorically speaking, of course. Unless Menefee has some radical environmental plan we don't know about yet. In that case, lock up your bogs, folks!
Bottom line: Texas Democrats just pulled a Uno reverse card on their own party. Whether it's a good thing or a trainwreck remains to be seen. Grab your popcorn. This is gonna be good.
