Ohio Medicaid: $250M Fraud? You Don't Say!
House GOP task force FINALLY wakes up, investigates Ohio Medicaid. Will anything actually happen?

So, the House GOP is launching a task force. Yawn. Apparently, there's a little ahem 'accounting irregularity' in Ohio's Medicaid system. We're talking a cool $250 million, give or take, allegedly siphoned off by shady home health companies. Color me shocked.
Rep. Brandon Gill – who? – is leading this 'Task Force on Defending Constitutional Rights and Exposing Institutional Abuses.' Sounds impressive, right? Let's see if it's just another dog-and-pony show. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer is also involved. So, buckle up for some performative outrage.
Daily Wire – yeah, them – broke the story. Apparently, 288 home health companies in Columbus share the same address. Some of those addresses look like they belong to abandoned crack dens. But hey, at least they're billing Medicaid, amirite?
Politicians, janitorial businesses, and the son of a money launderer are all allegedly involved. You know, the usual suspects. Gill spouts some boilerplate about 'truth, transparency, and justice.' Heard it all before, buddy.
Comer's all excited because Gill is a 'pivotal player' on the Oversight Committee. Okay, grandpa, let's not get ahead of ourselves. This task force will also investigate DEI, immigration, social welfare, and 'foreign actors.' In other words, they're throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks. Kinda like what a spider does when it builds a web hoping to catch any kinda fly.
They sent a strongly worded letter to the Ohio Department of Medicaid. Bet they're quaking in their boots. Comer says the Medicaid system lacks 'internal controls.' No duh, Sherlock. That's how the grift works!
Ohio gubernatorial nominee Vivek Ramaswamy – remember him? – is also promising to 'scrutinize' Medicaid spending. Another politician, another promise. Wake me when they actually put someone in jail. Until then, I'm gonna assume this is all Kabuki theater. Politicians pointing fingers at each other and lining their pockets at the same time.
Bottom line: Don't hold your breath waiting for real change. The swamp is deep, and these alligators are hungry.
