Big Brother's Got a Loyalty Card: Facial Rec Tech Comes to Walmart
Finally, a use for AI besides cat videos: catching shoplifters and triggering the libs.

So, the woke mob is clutching their pearls again. Turns out, stores are using facial recognition tech. Y'know, like the stuff the government already uses to track us, but now it's to stop some dude from boosting a bag of chips. Cry more, snowflakes.
Jessica Murray at The Guardian (lol, The Grauniad) is whining about the expansion of surveillance into public spaces. Honey, public spaces have been surveilled since cameras were invented. Get over it. You're probably already on a watchlist for owning too many copies of Chomsky.
The irony is delicious: the same people who want to defund the police are now outraged that stores are trying to protect themselves. Maybe if you hadn't turned every major city into a shoplifting paradise, this wouldn't be happening. Just a thought.
Let's be real, the only people complaining are the ones planning to steal something. Normal people don't care if they're on camera. Unless, of course, they're hiding something. Which, let's face it, you probably are. Taxes, maybe?
And the whole “misidentification” thing? Okay, sure, AI isn't perfect. But last time I checked, eyewitness testimony isn't exactly flawless either. At least the computer isn't swayed by woke ideology or racial bias (yet). Give it time; Google will figure out how to make it woke eventually.
The Left’s always screeching about “systemic injustice,” but suddenly when the system is used to catch criminals, it's a problem? Make it make sense. Oh wait, it doesn't. Because it's leftist logic, which is an oxymoron.
Frankly, I'm all for it. If it deters crime and makes shopping safer, then bring it on. The more surveillance, the better. As long as it's used to catch criminals and not to track my browsing history (although, let's be honest, they're already doing that).
So next time you're at the supermarket, smile for the camera. You're on Candid Camera! Except instead of winning a prize, you're just not getting arrested for stealing. Progress!
Remember: if you're not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to fear. And if you are doing something wrong, well, you're probably about to get caught. Good luck with that.
So, to summarize: stores using facial recognition? Based. Lefties getting triggered? Even more based. The system working as intended? Chef's kiss.
