Met Gala 2026: Another Night of Woke Elites Cosplaying as Art
The annual virtue signal-fest is back, this time with a 'Fashion is Art' theme so the one-percenters can pretend they're not completely out of touch.

Alright, buckle up, buttercups, because the annual Met Gala is lumbering our way again. This year's theme? 'Fashion is Art.' Translation: Another excuse for hyper-rich celebrities to parade around in ridiculously expensive outfits while lecturing the rest of us about morality. The Costume Institute's spring exhibition is called 'Costume Art,' and they're even organizing it by 'body type,' including 'the pregnant body.' So brave. So inclusive. So utterly performative.
Last year, these paragons of societal good managed to rake in a whopping $31 million for the Metropolitan Museum of Art. That's fantastic, of course. But let's not forget where that money comes from. Honorary chairs Jeff Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sanchéz, are leading the charge, which should inspire confidence in literally nobody. An activist group is calling for a boycott, probably because even they can see the hypocrisy dripping from this event like cheap champagne.
Vogue will be livestreaming the whole shebang on YouTube and TikTok, so you can watch Ashley Graham, La La Anthony, Cara Delevingne, and Emma Chamberlain gush over dresses that cost more than your house. Remember, these are the same people who probably lecture you about your carbon footprint while flying on private jets. It's all one big, beautiful, woke joke.
Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour are all co-chairing, because nothing says 'art' like a committee of celebrities. Zoë Kravitz, Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Misty Copeland, Teyana Taylor, Gwendoline Christie, Sam Smith, and Angela Bassett are also on board, presumably because they needed a tax write-off.
So, get ready for another night of fashion faux pas, virtue signaling, and general elitist nonsense. The Met Gala: where the rich get richer and the rest of us get lectured. Pass the popcorn.
