LA's 'Leafy Enclaves' Get Woke-Up Call: Burglar Edition
Turns out defunding the police doesn't magically stop smash-and-grabs, who knew?

So, the 'leafy enclaves' of Los Angeles – you know, the places where they virtue signal about climate change while sipping artisanal coffee – are getting a taste of reality. Burglars are zeroing in on those high-end homes for some good ol' smash-and-grab action. And what a surprise, all that 'defund the police' nonsense isn't exactly keeping the riff-raff away.
Mayor Karen Bass, bless her heart, is finally directing the LAPD to… wait for it… increase patrols! Along Ventura Boulevard! Because that's totally going to solve the problem, right? I mean, who needs cops in other neighborhoods when the folks in Sherman Oaks are getting their Cartier watches snatched?
Remember that attempted burglary in Sherman Oaks? Shattered window, residents inside, burglars bail. Classic. It's like a scene from a bad heist movie, except it's real life, and these are the consequences of letting criminals run wild.
Oh, and this isn't some new phenomenon. We've seen this movie before in the San Fernando Valley. Same patterns, same excuses, same lack of accountability. It's like Groundhog Day, but with more crime and fewer Bill Murray cameos.
In 2025, they tried the 'all-hands-on-deck' approach – increased patrols, air support, license plate readers. All that jazz. And now? Back to square one. Because apparently, actual crime prevention is too 'problematic' for the woke agenda.
LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell, back in 2025, had the nerve to say, "We understand that while crime may be statistically down, the fear and pain it causes is deeply personal—and very real." Translation: We know the stats are BS, but hey, at least we're acknowledging your feels.
Now, the LAPD's Operations-Valley Bureau is 'ramping up enforcement.' Translation: They're doing what they should have been doing all along, but only because the rich people are complaining.
Here's a thought: Maybe, just maybe, if you stop coddling criminals and start enforcing the law, people might actually feel safe. Crazy idea, I know. But hey, worth a shot, right?
So, enjoy your 'zero tolerance' crime spree, LA. You voted for this. Now live with it. And maybe, just maybe, learn a lesson: Wokeness doesn't stop bullets. Or burglars.
But hey, at least you're being inclusive. Criminals are people too, right? Just ask the victims of these smash-and-grabs. I'm sure they're feeling super enlightened about the whole situation.
