Israel Day Parade: Still Happening, Despite Woke Mob's Best Efforts
Mayor Dipsh*t Mamdani bails on the Israel Day Parade as Lefties try to cancel everything. Shocker.
So, the Israel Day Parade is still happening, folks. Despite the best efforts of the woke mob, the virtue signalers, and assorted social justice warriors, we're still gonna celebrate Israel. Even if Mayor Zohran 'I'm Too Good For This' Mamdani decided to sit this one out.
What's the deal with Mamdani ditching the parade? Probably scared of offending the Twitterati. Gotta keep that woke cred high, right? Never mind the actual real-world implications of abandoning our allies and kowtowing to the perpetually offended.
Apparently, public support for Israel is 'declining.' Newsflash: Public support for anything that doesn't involve free stuff and victimhood is declining. But hey, let's not let facts get in the way of a good narrative. The Usual Suspects are going to do Usual Suspect things.
And of course, the good ol' 'rising antisemitism' card is being played. Which, look, antisemitism is bad. Obviously. But it's also a convenient cudgel to shut down any criticism of Israel. Can't disagree with a policy without being labeled a bigot, apparently. It's almost as if someone's trying to manipulate public opinion. Almost.
The parade itself will probably be a target for protests. Antifa losers screaming about 'occupation' and 'genocide.' Maybe a few BDS folks waving their banners. The usual suspects. Just try not to block traffic, kids. Some of us have places to be and things to do.
The whole thing is just a giant virtue signaling exercise on all sides. The Left gets to whine about oppression. The Right gets to pretend they care about Jewish people (until it's time to vote for Roy Moore, anyway). And the rest of us just have to sit here and watch the clown show.
But hey, at least there's a parade. A parade celebrating a country that actually, you know, stands for something. Unlike our own, which seems to be rapidly devolving into a safe space for perpetually aggrieved snowflakes.
So go out there, wave some flags, and enjoy the parade. If you can stomach the performative outrage and the virtue signaling, that is. Just remember: Don't feed the trolls. And definitely don't try to argue with them. You'll never win.
Maybe Mayor Mamdani will have a change of heart, or more likely, will wait to see which way the wind blows and then issue a carefully crafted statement in support of something, but not actually attend anything. Because leadership.
And for those of you screaming about 'occupation' and 'apartheid,' here's a thought: Maybe try living in a country that actually faces existential threats on a daily basis. Then come back and tell us all about your 'oppression.'
Until then, enjoy the parade. Or don't. Whatever. Just try not to burn anything down. And please, for the love of God, stop whining.
It’s probably too much to ask that public figures and pundits approach this topic with an ounce of nuance, instead of just lobbing canned talking points and virtue signals at each other. But hey, a guy can dream, can’t he?
