Honduran Mayor Gets The Clamps: Enviro Activist Bites the Dust
Another day, another corrupt politician allegedly silencing dissent – woke gonna woke, but this time it's SOUTH of the border.

TEGUCIGALPA – Well, well, well. Looks like another swamp creature got caught with his hand in the environmental cookie jar. Honduran mayor Adan Funez, or as I like to call him, Adan “Oops, I Did It Again” Funez, got pinched this week for allegedly masterminding the dirt nap of some tree-hugging activist named Juan Lopez. You hate to see it... or do you?
Lopez, bless his bleeding-heart soul, was apparently ruffling some feathers with his eco-crusades. Deforestation, water rights, mining – the usual suspects. These guys always think they can take on the establishment, but sometimes the establishment takes them... permanently. Let's be real, the whole 'save the planet' schtick is starting to sound like a broken record anyway. Where's the 'save the economy' brigade? Asking for a friend.
Funez, of course, is pleading innocent. “It was the Deep State!” he probably screeches in Spanish. But let's be honest, in Honduras, the Deep State is the state. Corruption is as Honduran as baleadas. The dude was probably just trying to protect his turf, or maybe he just didn’t like Lopez’s face. Either way, he's got bigger problems now.
The Left is already screaming about systemic this and structural that. Blah, blah, blah. Maybe Lopez shouldn’t have been sticking his nose where it didn’t belong. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes, am I right? Environmentalism is a religion at this point, and the zealots always end up causing trouble.
Meanwhile, the media is acting all shocked and appalled. As if this kind of thing doesn't happen every Tuesday in Latin America. Wake me up when they arrest someone for actually doing something useful, like building a pipeline or drilling for oil. Then I'll pay attention.
Honestly, this whole situation is just another reminder that the world is a messed-up place, and nobody is coming to save you. So buckle up, buttercup, and learn to play the game. Or you might end up like Juan Lopez. Just sayin'.
It's time to stop virtue signaling and start being pragmatic. The world runs on resources, and someone's gotta get them. If a few trees have to fall along the way, well, that's just the cost of doing business. Now, where's my gas-guzzling SUV?
