But the sheriffs? They ain't buying it. Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, who's also running for governor (smart move, Bruce), is threatening a lawsuit. He's basically saying, "Come at me, Hochul! We're enforcing federal law whether you like it or not!" You go, Blakeman!

And Madison County Sheriff Todd Hood? He's got sheriffs from all over the state blowing up his phone, all saying the same thing: "This is bullsh*t!" Translation: Law enforcement officers who interact daily with these policies know better than woke politicians who never been near a jail.

Remember those 287(g) agreements? They let local cops hand over criminal aliens to ICE instead of letting them back out on the street to, you know, re-offend. But no, according to Hochul, it's better to let them roam free. Because reasons. Probably something about equity or systemic racism or whatever the latest buzzword is.

Hochul's even threatening to sue anyone who doesn't comply. Talk about a power trip! But hey, that's what happens when you let these virtue-signaling politicians run the show. They think they know better than everyone else.

The Left always cries about the police when things get out of hand, then they complain when the police actually enforce the law, especially regarding immigration laws.
