Felon Fumbles Freedom: Shreveport Shooter's Pal Faces Fed Time
Another day, another gun grabber's wet dream — but this time, they nabbed the guy who *gave* the boomstick to the bad hombre. Lock 'im up!

Alright, folks, gather 'round the digital water cooler. Another mass shooting, another round of pearl-clutching and calls to disarm grandma. But hold your horses, because this time the Feds actually did something kinda based. They arrested Charles Ford, a 56-year-old Shreveport swamp dweller, for allegedly handing off the rifle that some unhinged dude, Shamar Elkins, used to off eight kids. Yeah, eight. That’s a lot of participation trophies gone to waste.
Now, Ford's a convicted felon, which means he's already not supposed to have anything to do with firearms, unless he wants to get acquainted with Bubba in the federal penitentiary shower room. So, naturally, he’s facing some serious time for being a dumbass. Fifteen years for the felon-in-possession charge, and another five for lying to the Man. Not bad for a Tuesday.
But here's where the commies start screeching: 'Ban ALL the guns! Nobody needs an AR-15 to hunt deer!' Right, because confiscating legally owned firearms from millions of responsible citizens is totally going to stop a scumbag like Elkins, or Ford, from getting their hands on something illegal. That's like saying banning cars will stop drunk drivers. Logic? Never heard of her.
Let's be real: Elkins was a monster. He was in the Louisiana Army National Guard (probably woke, but that's a rant for another time), and he decided to turn his domestic dispute into a full-blown horror show. No amount of gun control would have stopped him. He'd have used a knife, a hammer, a rusty spoon – whatever was handy. Evil finds a way.
What might have helped? A father figure. A stable home. Maybe even a therapist who wasn't virtue signaling about pronouns. But no, let’s blame the inanimate object. Classic.
The DOJ released a photo of the rifle. Ooooooh, scary! It’s a tool. Just like a car, a hammer, or a Twitter account. It’s only dangerous in the hands of a moron or a psychopath. And guess what? Those types tend to ignore laws anyway.
U.S. Attorney Zachary A. Keller is out there saying he hopes holding Ford accountable will bring some solace to the community. Sure, it'll make everyone feel warm and fuzzy inside. But what about the bigger picture? How do we stop these tragedies from happening in the first place?
Maybe we need to start focusing on fixing our broken society, instead of trying to neuter the Second Amendment. Maybe we need to stop glorifying violence in movies and video games. Maybe we need to bring back shame and consequences. Just spitballing here.
In the meantime, let's hope Ford enjoys his stay at Club Fed. And let's hope the next idiot who thinks he can skirt the law learns a valuable lesson: Don't be a dumbass. It usually ends badly. And for the love of God, secure your firearms!
So, to recap: bad guy did bad things, another bad guy helped him, and now both are gonna have a bad time. Maybe. Hopefully. It’s a start, but definitely not the end of this clown show.
