Feds Beg Florida to Hold 'Biden-Approved' Cuban Migrant After Horrific Miami Rideshare Rape Arrest
Another stellar product of the 2021 border 'catch-and-release' program gets busted for allegedly drugging and kidnapping a female passenger.

Just when you thought the border situation couldn’t get any more dysfunctional, the inevitable real-world consequences have landed right on Miami’s doorstep. Federal authorities are currently pleading with Florida cops not to let a Cuban national out of their sight after he was slapped with heavy-duty charges for allegedly drugging, kidnapping, and raping a woman while masquerading as an Uber driver.
The suspect in question is 42-year-old Yusel Keoma Perez-Leyva. According to Miami-Dade police, the victim thought she was getting a standard ride home after a night of clubbing. Instead, she was allegedly drugged by Perez-Leyva. The next day, she woke up in serious physical pain, realizing she had been violated. To make matters worse for his defense, security cameras caught Perez-Leyva carrying the completely incapacitated victim straight into his apartment like a piece of luggage. He’s now sitting in a cell facing charges of kidnapping and sexual battery.
Naturally, the feds are in damage-control mode. It turns out Perez-Leyva is an illegal immigrant who strolled across the border in Arizona back in 2021. Instead of being sent back, the Biden administration’s border patrol gave him the green light and released him into the country, where he eventually managed to sign up for Uber and start picking up unsuspecting passengers.
DHS Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis didn't mince words about the federal government's massive screw-up: "This illegal alien from Cuba is charged with raping and kidnapping a woman in Miami," Bis admitted. "This sexual predator was released into our country by the Biden Administration. ICE has lodged a detainer against him, and because Florida cooperates with ICE, he will be turned over to ICE custody and never released into American communities again."
It’s a good thing this guy decided to commit his alleged crimes in Florida and not some sanctuary-city clown state. In liberal jurisdictions, local politicians would probably try to shield him from immigration consequences. But Florida actually believes in law and order. Thanks to state law SB 168, Miami-Dade Corrections has no choice but to honor the ICE detainer and hand him over to federal agents the second his trial is over.
While corporate media outlets and open-border advocates continue to downplay the direct connection between lax border policies and domestic crime, local communities are left dealing with the fallout. This case serves as a grim reminder of what happens when federal vetting is replaced by a trust system.
