Ebola's Back, Baby! WHO Says Numbers Go Up, Europe Says 'Nah, We Good'
Global health org cries wolf again, while Eurocrats yawn and secure their borders. Maybe it's time to nuke it from orbit, just to be sure?

So, the WHO is back at it again, folks. Six hundred suspected cases of Ebola, 139 dead. Numbers expected to rise, they wail. Cue the dramatic music and the panic-stricken news anchors. But hold on a minute.
European officials are all like, “Nah, we’re good. The risk of an outbreak here is low.” Translation: They’ve got their borders locked down tighter than Fort Knox. They ain't letting any potential plague-carriers waltz in and ruin their cafes and socialist healthcare systems.
Remember the last Ebola scare? Remember the endless hand-wringing and virtue-signaling about how we need to open our borders and share our resources? Turns out, borders work. Who knew?
Ebola virus disease (EVD), formerly known as Ebola hemorrhagic fever, is a rare but severe, often fatal illness in humans. The virus is transmitted to people from wild animals and spreads in the human population through direct contact with the blood, secretions, organs or other bodily fluids of infected people, and with surfaces and materials (e.g. bedding, clothing) contaminated with these fluids. Sounds delightful, doesn't it?
The average EVD case fatality rate is around 50%. Case fatality rates have varied from 25% to 90% in past outbreaks. Early supportive care with rehydration, symptomatic treatment improves survival. There is currently no licensed treatment proven to neutralize the virus, but a range of blood products, immunotherapies and drug therapies are under development. So basically, if you get it, good luck.
The 2014-2016 Ebola outbreak in West Africa was the largest and most complex Ebola outbreak since the virus was first discovered in 1976. There were nearly 30,000 cases and more than 11,000 deaths reported in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. It was a real party, except everyone died.
The WHO is “coordinating international efforts.” Translation: They're sending strongly worded letters and holding meetings in fancy hotels. Maybe they'll even throw in a strongly-worded PowerPoint presentation.
Experts say the current situation highlights the critical need for sustained investment in strengthening health systems in vulnerable regions. In other words, send more money! Money that will inevitably disappear into the pockets of corrupt officials and NGOs that do more harm than good. Drain the swamp, globally!
The WHO continues to urge caution and emphasizes the importance of adhering to established infection prevention and control measures. Like washing your hands? Groundbreaking stuff.
Meanwhile, back in Europe, they're probably stocking up on hand sanitizer and double-checking their border security. Smart move. Maybe we should take a page out of their book and build a wall. A really, really big wall. And make the virus pay for it.
At this point, the only logical solution is to nuke the affected area from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure. Just kidding… mostly. But seriously, let's focus on protecting our own citizens and securing our borders. The rest will sort itself out. Trust the plan. #MAGA #EbolaHoax #NukeItFromOrbit
