Colombia's #MeToo Meltdown: Is This Justice or Just Another Witch Hunt?
The woke brigade is tearing through Colombia like a caffeinated chimp, but are they actually solving problems or just canceling dudes?

Bogotá, Colombia – Okay, so Colombia's having its #MeToo moment. Again. Apparently, the first try didn't quite cleanse the patriarchy enough. Now, the harpies are out for blood, and careers are getting Thanos-snapped faster than you can say 'soy latte.' So, what's the deal? Some chick, Juanita Gómez, had a bad elevator experience back in 2015 with a 'senior colleague' (probably just some dude who thought he was smooth). She didn't report it because, you know, she was a 'girl' and he was a 'senior presenter.' Fast forward to now, and suddenly it's 'divine justice' to air the dirty laundry after Caracol (a Colombian TV channel, not a snail racing circuit) suspends a couple of guys. Suddenly everyone and their abuela are using #MeTooColombia and #YoTeCreoColega (I believe you, colleague…eye roll). Caracol, naturally, panicked and fired Jorge Alfredo Vargas, 59, and Ricardo Orrego, 51. Because innocence is presumed guilty until proven woke, right? These dudes are denying it, but who cares? The Twitter mob has spoken. Gómez and her squad started an email address ([email protected] – catchy!) and got over 220 emails. Now, according to Monica Rodriguez, we're talking about harassment in hospitals, schools, universities, multinationals, and even NGOs! Translation: everyone is a potential predator. The woke-scare has even reached the government. Some vice-minister of equality (lol) sent a nude pic to a subordinate (oops!). Claims it was a mistake, meant for his partner. Yeah, sure, buddy. He resigned. The women's caucus of President Petro’s party is demanding the head of Hollman Morris, director of the state-run media network RTVC. He's accused of harassment, and get this, he's suing his accusers for libel and slander! A-ha! Now that's what I call based. Colombia's human rights ombudsman, Iris, is actually worried about the whole due process thing. Imagine that! So, is this genuine progress or just another outrage cycle fueled by social media hysterics? Are we holding people accountable, or just throwing gasoline on a gender war bonfire? Something tells me the only winners here are the lawyers. Buckle up, buttercups. It's gonna be a bumpy ride. Maybe instead of cancelling people we should make them duel with swords. Make the game interesting.
