San Juan, Puerto Rico – Another day, another win for freedom! The brave men and women of U.S. Air and Marine Operations (AMO), riding a majestic Black Hawk choppa, just put the smack down on some would-be Pablo Escobars off the coast of Puerto Rico. Three amigos from the Dominican Republic are currently singing the blues after trying to smuggle 391 pounds of the white stuff.

On May 14, these geniuses thought they could outsmart the US military. Turns out, Uncle Sam doesn't take kindly to illegal imports, especially when they come in conveniently-sized brick form. The San Juan Marine Unit, backed by the Black Hawk, swooped in like the bald eagles they are, snatching up the perps and their product. The helicopter even deployed some "air disabling fire," which sounds like a polite way of saying they threatened to turn the boat into Swiss cheese if they didn't comply. And comply, they did.

"Our Air and Marine Operations teams demonstrated exceptional skill and coordination in this interdiction. The decisive use of air disabling fire by our Black Hawk crew was instrumental in stopping the vessel and preventing dangerous narcotics from reaching our communities," Caribbean Air and Marine Branch Director Christopher Hunter said. In other words, they did their job. Unlike, say, the Department of Education.
