Based Vet or Cringe Commie? Platner's PTSD Posts Trigger Woke Meltdown
Senate hopeful's old Reddit takes spark e-drama – is this the guy to own Susan Collins, or just another blue-haired soyboy?

Graham Platner, the Democrat tryin' to dethrone Queen Susan Collins up in Maine, is catchin' heat faster than a microwave burrito. Turns out, the dude has a past – and not just the 'fought for your freedom' kind. We're talkin' spicy Reddit posts from the days before he decided to run for office and virtue signal for votes.
Specifically, some leftie news outlets (CNN, naturally) dug up old comments where Platner went full scorched-earth on the PTSD excuse. Some cop went full Barney Fife on some porcupines (RIP lil' dudes) and blamed it on his war trauma. Platner, being a veteran himself, wasn't havin' it. He basically said, "I did four tours, saw some messed up stuff, and I still don't go around clubbing small animals. Copium overload!"
Now, fast forward to 2026, and suddenly Platner's singing a different tune. The same guy who called BS on the PTSD excuse is now blaming his own internet shenanigans on – you guessed it – PTSD. Apparently, postin' woke garbage and simping for the socialist revolution is just what happens when you've seen too much sand. Riiiiight.
Look, we get it. War messes with your head. But the whole 'I was just a messed up kid' routine rings kinda hollow. Especially when you're trying to convince people you're fit to run a state. It's like when AOC blames her bad takes on being a bartender – cute, but does it actually excuse anything?
The real question is, can Platner pull this off? Can he convince the normies that his past doesn't matter, that he's totally changed, and that he's the only one who can save them from the Orange Man Bad? Or will this be another case of a woke candidate getting wrecked by their own digital footprint?
Honestly, we're here for the chaos. Maybe he'll win. Maybe he'll crash and burn. Either way, the memes are gonna be epic. And if nothing else, it's a good reminder that the internet is forever. So maybe think twice before you start ranting about the bourgeoisie on Reddit, especially if you plan on running for Senate someday.
So, is Platner based or cringe? Is he a true American hero or just another virtue-signaling politician? Only time (and the voters of Maine) will tell. But one thing's for sure: this election is gonna be lit.
Bonus points if he starts sellin' those Kevlar rape-proof panties mentioned in that Washington Post article. Talk about a campaign platform!
CNN first reported on Platner’s activity on the r/SocialistRA subreddit and other Reddit forums. The Washington Post also obtained a since-deleted message from 2013 in which Platner discussed a video promoting female underwear designed to prevent rape.
