Bahamas Doubles Down on Wokeness: Davis Re-elected, More Handouts Incoming?
The PLP's victory proves Bahamians love 'free' stuff, but who's gonna pay for it? Spoiler alert: You are.

NASSAU, Bahamas – Welp, they did it again. Philip Davis and his band of merry spenders at the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) are back for another term in the Bahamas. Apparently, the promise of 'free' stuff and feel-good policies was enough to sway the voters. First leader in 30 years to pull this off? Color us skeptical.
"The Bahamian people have spoken, and I receive their verdict with humility and gratitude," Davis said. Translation: "Thanks for the gig, time to keep the gravy train rolling!" He claims it's a mandate to move the Bahamas forward. Forward? More like straight into debt.
Calling an early election because of hurricane season? Classic move. Distract 'em with weather worries, then sneak in the win before anyone notices the economy is still sinking faster than the Titanic.
With over 30 seats in the parliament, the PLP now has the power to really screw things up. Remember that whole value-added tax removal on food? A Band-Aid on a gaping wound, but hey, optics are everything.
The Free National Movement (FNM)? More like the Feeble National Movement. Losing to Davis? Again? At this point, they should just rebrand as the Opposition Party of Losers. And Rick Fox getting dunked on in the election? Ouch. Maybe stick to basketball, buddy.
"King Kong ain’t got nothing on me," said Mario Bowleg after his victory. Seriously? Comparing yourself to a giant ape? That’s the level of intellectual discourse we're working with here, folks. Buckle up.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) already warned about the housing situation. Guess what? More spending! Because throwing money at problems always works, right? Especially when it’s not your money.
So, what can we expect from another Davis term? More debt, more spending, and more virtue signaling. The Bahamas is about to become the poster child for unsustainable progressivism. Get ready for the show, because it's gonna be a train wreck.
Remember, folks, there's no such thing as a free lunch. Someone has to pay for all this, and guess who it is? You. The Bahamian taxpayer. Enjoy.
At least when the next hurricane hits, everyone will be equally broke. Progress!
So the PLP wins, and the Bahamas gets another round of…well, you know. Grab your popcorn, folks. This is gonna be a wild ride.
