Asheville: From Craft Breweries to Crap Show - Thanks, Libs!
The woke mountain paradise is now a homeless encampment, proving once again that 'compassion' and 'results' don't mix.

Remember Asheville? Cute mountain town, killer breweries, the kind of place you'd take your Birkenstock-wearing aunt for a 'spiritual retreat'? Yeah, well, now it's basically Portland East, overrun with the usual suspects: homeless camps, junkies, and virtue-signaling politicians who think 'defund the police' is a winning strategy.
Turns out, when you prioritize feelings over facts, reality bites you in the ass. Carl Mumpower, the only sane guy on the City Council back in the day (before the woke mob cancelled him, probably), tried to warn them. But no, they had to implement their 'Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness,' which, surprise surprise, only made things worse. Who could have seen that coming?
These geniuses thought they could solve homelessness by throwing money at the problem and letting people do whatever they want. No personal responsibility, no consequences, just endless handouts and enabling behavior. It's like they're actively trying to turn Asheville into a Mad Max movie, but with more pronouns.
And the police? Oh, they've been neutered. Thanks to the 'defund the police' movement (which is always a brilliant idea, said no one ever), they're down 40% of their force. So now, petty crime is basically legal. Feel like shoplifting some artisanal cheese? Go for it! Nobody's gonna stop you.
The Asheville-Buncombe Continuum of Care (try saying that three times fast) is shocked, shocked, that homelessness is up 9.1%. Well, duh! When you create a sanctuary for vagrancy, guess what? More vagrants show up. It's not rocket science, people. It's basic cause and effect.
Meanwhile, North Carolina Senate candidate Michael Whatley is out there talking about Hurricane Helene recovery. Nice, but maybe he should focus on the hurricane of homelessness that's tearing apart Asheville. Just a thought.
Look, I'm not saying we should throw the homeless in jail and forget about them. But enabling their behavior isn't the answer. We need to enforce the laws, hold people accountable, and stop pretending that feelings are more important than facts.
Asheville is a prime example of what happens when you let the woke mob run the asylum. It's a cautionary tale for every other city in America. Wake up, people! Stop listening to the clowns in charge, before your town turns into the next Asheville.
Time to drain the swamp, starting with the City Council. And maybe invest in some serious power-washing equipment for downtown. Just sayin'.
This ain't about being heartless, it's about being realistic. Compassion without consequences is just enabling. And enabling leads to chaos. Asheville is Exhibit A.
So, next time you're planning a mountain getaway, maybe skip Asheville. Unless you're into panhandling, public urination, and the sweet aroma of failure. Otherwise, stick to the mountains – and leave the woke policies at home.
