Another Day, Another 'Accidental' Shooting: Libs Gonna Lib, Guns Gonna Gun
Auburn grad cashes out early thanks to 'negligent' gun handling; time to ban revolvers, amirite?

Trussville, AL – So, some chick from Auburn, Whitney Robeson, kicks the bucket after getting ventilated by her boyfriend's old man's 'antique' .22. Jeffrey Towers, the alleged shooter, is now facing manslaughter charges and a civil suit. Because of course he is. This is America, where everyone sues everyone for everything. But get this: they're also going after the gunmaker. Because a gun just jumps up and shoots people, right? Zero personal responsibility here, folks.
The usual suspects are already screeching about gun control and 'common sense' (which is apparently neither common nor sensible). Gotta ban those scary .22 revolvers, right? They're practically assault weapons. Never mind that this sounds like a classic case of someone being a moron with a firearm. Nope, gotta blame the inanimate object. It's the American way!
Defense attorney Johnny Amari is doing his best to spin this as a 'devastating tragedy' and a 'terrible accident.' Which, yeah, it probably is. But good luck convincing the perpetually outraged. They're already sharpening their pitchforks and demanding Towers' head on a pike. You know, for justice.
And let's not forget the virtue signaling. 'Oh, she just landed her dream job!' 'She was so special!' Spare me. People die. Sometimes it's tragic. Sometimes it's preventable. But it's always an opportunity for the libs to push their agenda. This is why we can't have nice things.
The lawsuit alleges that Towers was showing off his 'collection of antique firearms' in the attic. Because nothing says 'responsible gun ownership' like flashing your antique iron at your son's girlfriend in the freaking attic. I mean, come on, man. Darwin Awards were invented for moments like this.
The gun manufacturer is probably sweating bullets (pun intended). Thanks to the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA), they're usually shielded from liability. But the Left is always looking for ways around that. So, expect a long and expensive legal battle. Because that's how justice is served in this country: with billable hours.
Meanwhile, Towers is out on $30,000 bond, probably regretting every decision he ever made. But hey, at least he's got a good lawyer. And a whole lot of angry people baying for his blood. Welcome to the Thunderdome, Jeffrey. Two men enter, one man leaves... maybe.
Look, accidental shootings are bad. Gun safety is important. Yada yada yada. But let's not pretend this is some grand indictment of American gun culture. It's just a sad, stupid accident that's being exploited for political gain. So, grab some popcorn and watch the show. It's gonna be a wild ride.
We could use this as a reminder to teach basic gun safety, but that would involve personal responsibility, which is apparently a lost art in this country. So, keep the finger off the trigger, folks, because karma comes at you fast.
This case is a mess, the reactions are predictable, and the outcome will likely be unsatisfying. The best course of action is to ignore all of it and go shoot some skeet.
In the end, Whitney Robeson is dead. Jeffrey Towers is probably ruined. And the gun control debate rages on. Circle of life, right?
