ABC News: Another Woke Journo Incoming?
Reuters exec Simon Robinson poised to take the reins at the taxpayer-funded propaganda arm, but will he drain the swamp?

So, the ABC's Comrade Justin Stevens, bless his heart, has decided to take his woke talents elsewhere after four glorious years of steering the ship of state-sponsored narratives. Now, Reuters veteran Simon Robinson is lined up to take his place. Cue the applause...or maybe just a collective eye-roll from anyone who's not still clinging to the teat of the ABC's teat-sucking teat-sucking teat. The departure was effective immediately, thank God.
Hugh Marks, the ABC managing director, says Stevens just wanted to, like, totally move on, man. But let's be real, the ABC needs a "refresh" like a Bernie Bro needs a trust fund. The entire org is a bloated bureaucratic boondoggle, spewing out virtue-signaling garbage at the expense of the Aussie taxpayer. Seriously, how much does this virtue signaling cost us per year? I bet it’s more than my mortgage.
Marks gushes about Stevens' "incredible commitment" to the ABC, but all we see is 19 years of steadily increasing leftist indoctrination. Apparently, making ABC News the "No 1 digital news provider" is something to brag about. Congrats, you've mastered the art of clickbait and social media echo chambers. That's not journalism; it’s propaganda 101.
Robinson, meanwhile, comes from Reuters, which, let's face it, is hardly a bastion of conservative thought. He's currently Deputy to the Editor-in-Chief of their 2,600-strong newsroom, which means he's probably got more experience spinning narratives than a top. Get ready for more 'climate change is real,' 'white privilege is a thing,' and 'Orange Man Bad' headlines, folks.
According to sources, ABC chair Kim Williams is a big fan of Robinson. Figures. Birds of a feather flock together, and all that jazz. Robinson's LinkedIn bio boasts about his ability to "reshape a news story or transform an organization alike." Translation: he's a professional spin doctor who knows how to manipulate the masses. The guy admitted to it on his own LinkedIn. You can’t make this stuff up. And for all the talk about unbiased journalism, I’m still waiting for an ABC investigation into their own operations. Maybe now’s the time, I guess.
Stevens, in his farewell email, patted himself on the back for strengthening journalism, adapting to the digital age, and improving the newsroom's culture. Translation: he implemented woke policies, censored dissenting opinions, and turned the ABC into a safe space for progressive snowflakes. He’s basically responsible for the entire modern ABC. The guy is a legend in all the worst ways.
So, what does this all mean? Probably more of the same. The ABC will continue to be a taxpayer-funded mouthpiece for the left, pushing its agenda on unsuspecting Australians. Robinson may tweak a few things here and there, but don't expect any real change. The swamp is too deep, and the alligators are too well-fed. The real question is when will the Aussie taxpayer finally say enough is enough and defund this ideological cesspool?
But hey, at least we can all look forward to another round of senate estimates hearings where politicians pretend to care about the ABC's bias and mismanagement. It's all just a big Kabuki dance, designed to distract us from the real issues. While our country faces real challenges, the government focuses on fluff stuff like this. It’s all so tiresome. But that’s the government for you, I guess.
In summary, prepare for more of the same. Don't expect Robinson to rock the boat too much. The ABC is what it is. A bloated, taxpayer-funded echo chamber for the left. The only real solution? Drain the swamp. Which, of course, will never happen. So, we're all doomed. Thanks, ABC.
At this point, I'd probably just settle for an apology. The ABC is a stain on the face of Australian media, and it doesn't seem like that's going to change any time soon. It’s just more of the same crap, different day, different year. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
And let's not forget the 2,000-ish staffers at the ABC News Division. What do they even do all day? Sounds like a whole lot of overpaid virtue signalers. Maybe they should all try learning to code.
So buckle up, buttercups, because the ride's not over yet. The ABC train keeps chugging along, fueled by your hard-earned tax dollars and a never-ending supply of progressive propaganda.
