World Press Freedom Day in Gaza: Wah, Wah, Journalists Crying 'Israel!' Again
Gaza journos whine about getting 'targeted' – because accountability is for chumps, right?

Gaza City – So, it's World Press Freedom Day, and guess what? The usual suspects in Gaza are blaming Israel for everything, including their own bad luck. Seems Palestinian journalists are using the day to honor their 'martyred' colleagues, conveniently forgetting that Hamas runs the show over there and probably vets every tweet they send. But hey, who needs facts when you've got a narrative to push?
Here's the deal: Journalism in a warzone is like playing Frogger in a demolition derby. It's dangerous. People get hurt. Sometimes, those people are journalists. But to automatically scream 'Israel did it!' every time a reporter catches a stray bullet (or, you know, maybe was hanging out with some guys firing rockets) is peak virtue signaling. Where's the outrage when Hamas uses journalists as human shields? Crickets, I bet.
Let's not pretend the Gazan media is exactly Woodward and Bernstein. They're operating in a place where Hamas is essentially the PR department. Independent thought? Critical reporting on their glorious leaders? Yeah, good luck with that. So, while we should always defend the idea of a free press, let's also be real about the context. These aren't exactly the paragons of journalistic integrity the left would have you believe. They're mouthpieces in a propaganda war.
And speaking of propaganda, the UN – that bastion of anti-Israel sentiment – is all over this. UNESCO, their education and culture arm, is leading the charge on World Press Freedom Day, pretending that Gaza is some oppressed utopia just yearning for unbiased reporting. Give me a break. They're more interested in bashing Israel than actually helping journalists. It's the same old song and dance.
Remember when the AP building in Gaza got bombed a while back? Everyone lost their minds, screaming about Israel targeting the media. Turns out, Hamas was using the building as a command center. Oops. Guess that little detail got lost in the outrage machine. Don't expect a retraction anytime soon.
So, yeah, let's have a moment of silence for journalists who died doing their jobs. But let's also have a moment of silence for common sense. Let's not pretend that every casualty in Gaza is a deliberate act of Israeli aggression. And let's definitely not let Hamas use World Press Freedom Day as another opportunity to play the victim. They’re the ones suppressing freedom, not Israel.
Look, I'm not saying Israel is perfect. They make mistakes. War is messy. But the constant, knee-jerk reaction to blame them for everything that goes wrong in Gaza is ridiculous. It's intellectually lazy, morally bankrupt, and frankly, it's just boring. Time to grow up and start asking some real questions.
Bottom line: World Press Freedom Day in Gaza? More like World Blame Israel Day. Wake me up when they start holding Hamas accountable.
Next up, expect them to cry about human rights violations, as if Hamas has any leg to stand on. It's a never-ending cycle of whining, blaming, and victimhood. And the Western media laps it up like free kombucha. Sad!
Maybe instead of whining, Gaza journalists should try reporting on the billions in aid money that mysteriously disappears. Or, better yet, expose Hamas's lavish lifestyles while the average Gazan struggles to find food. But hey, that would require actual journalism, wouldn’t it? Never mind.
In closing: Israel Derangement Syndrome remains the leading cause of journalistic malpractice in Gaza. There, I said it.
It's not about free press, it's about free Palestine. And if you can't see the difference, you're part of the problem.
