Woke Airlines Saved by 'Union Busting' Nigerian Oil Baron! You Can't Make This Stuff Up!
The UK's virtue-signaling elites are relying on a refinery accused of worker exploitation to keep their private jets fueled. The irony is *chef's kiss*.

Alright, buckle up, buttercups, because this one's a doozy. So, the UK, land of 'woke' airlines and climate change crusades, is facing a jet fuel shortage. And who's riding to the rescue? None other than the Dangote refinery in Nigeria, a place accused of, wait for it, union busting! You can't write this stuff, folks.
Heidi Alexander, the UK's Transport Secetary (probably drives a Tesla, naturally), is all about importing more fuel from West Africa to fix their self-inflicted energy crisis. Because, you know, banning gas cars in the name of 'saving the planet' works great until you need to, like, fly somewhere. Enter Aliko Dangote, the Nigerian billionaire behind the refinery, who’s probably laughing all the way to the bank. And why wouldn't he be? He's selling the fuel that keeps those woke jet-setters flying to Davos to lecture us on our carbon footprints.
Apparently, this refinery, which started pumping out aviation fuel in January 2024, shipped about 130,000 tonnes of the good stuff to the UK in March. But here's where it gets spicy. Last autumn, the Nigerian government had to step in because Dangote was accused of firing 800+ workers for daring to join a union (Pengassan). Replaced them with foreign workers, too. Allegedly.
Of course, the company denies all this, claiming it was just a 'limited reorganisation' and that they totally respect unions. Sure, Jan. Meanwhile, the Nigerian Labour Congress is calling Dangote a union-busting, exploitative monster. Sounds about right. The same unions accusing him of “foul language” are now praising his refinery for supposedly saving Nigeria from fuel shortages. The grift is strong with this one.
So, let's recap: The UK is importing fuel from a refinery accused of union busting to keep its airlines afloat. The same airlines that are probably lecturing us about social justice and the evils of capitalism. The hypocrisy is so thick, you could spread it on toast. Remember kids, virtue signaling is ALWAYS optional when it comes to maintaining a decadent lifestyle.
This whole saga is a perfect example of how the 'woke' elite are perfectly happy to exploit others to maintain their lifestyle. They’ll preach about sustainability while jetting around the world in private planes fueled by the tears of Nigerian workers (probably). They’ll lecture us about income inequality while raking in millions and outsourcing jobs to countries with lower labor standards.
