WA Gets Rekt: Thousands Without Power, Blame the Greenies?
Perth hammered by 'severe weather event' – aka Tuesday for the rest of us; is this the price of woke energy policies?

Perth, mate. Looks like you've been having a bit of a barney with Mother Nature, and she ain't happy. Thousands without power? A shed ended up in a swimming pool? Sounds like the climate change alarmists are having a field day. But hold on a tick – maybe, just maybe, this has more to do with decades of dodgy infrastructure and virtue signaling 'green' policies than some existential climate crisis.
Ten thousand customers statewide without juice, courtesy of Western Power. And I bet they're all screaming about muh climate change. Meanwhile, the wind's blowing harder than AOC at a socialist convention. 125km/h gusts? That's what I call a bloody good breeze. Pity it's knocking down power lines instead of blowing sense into the politicians.
The Bureau of Meteorology, bless their cotton socks, issued a severe weather warning. As if anyone needed a bloody warning to tell them it was windy. Maybe they should focus on predicting the next lockdown instead of telling us about the weather – we can look out the window, thanks.
Luke Huntington from the Bureau says the wind's the worst hazard. No kidding, Sherlock. Thanks for the update. Maybe he could tell us why our electricity bills are skyrocketing while the grid crumbles at the first sign of a stiff breeze? Asking the real questions here.
Oh, and some autistic kid went missing during all this. Glad they found him safe. But let's not pretend this has anything to do with the weather. Just good police work, end of story.
Ludlow got 43mm of rain in two hours? Sounds like a good excuse to crack open a cold one. But watch out for those 'abnormally high tides'. Sounds like the ocean's getting woke too. Maybe we should cancel the ocean before it cancels us.
So, what's the real takeaway here? Probably that we need to stop obsessing over climate virtue signaling and start investing in reliable infrastructure. And maybe tell the greenies to take a hike. Just a thought.
Before we get too excited about blaming the weather, maybe, just maybe, we should look closer to home. How many dodgy contracts have been handed out for wind farms that don't actually work? How much money has been wasted on 'sustainable' initiatives that achieve precisely nothing? Just asking questions. This could be the price of woke energy policies.
Time to stop the virtue signaling and start building some proper infrastructure. And maybe, just maybe, stop listening to the doomsayers who want to lock us down every time the weather gets a bit spicy. We're Aussies, for crying out loud. We've seen worse. Just gonna send it. Build Back Better? More like Build Back Useless.
