USWNT Gets Woke Back: Soccer Moms Wilson, Davidson Return to the Pitch
After baby breaks and boo-boos, can these ladies still kick it with the best, or is this just more virtue signaling on the field?

So, the USWNT is back, and guess what? They're bringing back Sophia Wilson, fresh off maternity leave, and Tierna Davidson, who apparently tore her ACL doing...something. Gotta keep those diversity hires coming, even on the soccer field, am I right?
Wilson, bless her heart, took a break to pop out a kid. Good for her, I guess. But can she still run? Can she still kick? Or is this just another feel-good story designed to distract us from the fact that the USWNT hasn't been dominating lately? Remember when winning was more important than pronouns?
And Davidson? ACL injuries are no joke, especially in women's sports. But let's be real, she's been sidelined for a YEAR. Is she really ready to go, or is this another participation trophy situation? Are we lowering the bar to be more inclusive? Is that really helping anyone?
Emma Hayes, the coach, is spouting the usual PR nonsense about how these two are "great players" who "contribute positively to our team environment." Yeah, yeah, we've heard it all before. Actions speak louder than words, and right now, the USWNT needs more action and less talk.
They're playing Japan, who apparently won some Asian tournament without even breaking a sweat. Sounds like a real challenge. But honestly, I'm more interested in seeing if the USWNT can stop virtue signaling long enough to actually win a game.
This whole thing smells like another woke marketing campaign. Remember when the USWNT was about winning and American pride? Now it's about…gestures vaguely…this.
Wake me up when they start winning again. And maybe, just maybe, stop lecturing us about social justice while they're at it. The world doesn't need more woke soccer; it needs less.
So, good luck to Wilson and Davidson. Prove me wrong. Show us you can still play. But if this is just another exercise in identity politics, I'm checking out. The WNBA is that way, if you want to go woke and lose money.
