Trump Lays Wreath, Still Not a War Criminal (Probably)
Orange Man attends Memorial Day thingy at Arlington, libs still seething.

Arlington, VA – President Donald J. Trump, still somehow not in Gitmo, showed up at Arlington National Cemetery today for the annual Memorial Day virtue signal. He did the whole wreath-laying schtick at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier – you know, the place where they bury soldiers who are so unknown they don't even have a Facebook page. Then he gave a speech at the Memorial Amphitheater, probably saying something about how great America is and how much he loves the troops. Shocker.
Memorial Day, or as the woke left probably calls it, 'Day of Remembrance for Imperialist Warmongering,' is when we supposedly remember the brave men and women who died for our freedom. But let's be real, half the country probably thinks they died for oil or something. The origins go back to the Civil War, a time when Americans were actually willing to fight each other instead of just arguing on Twitter. Imagine that.
Arlington National Cemetery, a sprawling graveyard for heroes and bureaucrats, is where all the action went down. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is supposed to be super moving and all that, but it's basically just a fancy rock. The Memorial Amphitheater is where all the politicians go to make speeches about how much they care, while simultaneously lining the pockets of defense contractors. It's the circle of life.
The wreath-laying ceremony is basically a photo op for politicians to pretend they're patriotic. They put on their somber faces, lay down a wreath, and then immediately go back to scheming about how to get re-elected. Taps is played, everyone pretends to cry, and then it's back to business as usual.
Trump showing up is just par for the course. He probably thinks it's all about him anyway. But hey, at least he's acknowledging the troops, unlike some other politicians who shall remain nameless (cough, AOC, cough). Maybe he'll even tweet something about it later, complete with excessive exclamation points and a misspelled word or two.
The Memorial Amphitheater ceremony was a chance to get some Fox News coverage. That's what it is really about. The media needs content and Trump needs to look good in his own mind.
All joking aside, Memorial Day is a day to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Whether you agree with the wars they fought in or not, they deserve our respect. So raise a glass (or a beer), fire up the grill, and try not to get too triggered by your liberal relatives at the barbecue. And remember, if you see a veteran, thank them for their service. Unless they're a lib, then just nod politely and move on.
So, Trump did the Memorial Day thing. The world didn't end (yet). And the libs are still losing their minds. Business as usual. The system works.
