Sting Blames Deindustrialization for Toxic Masculinity? Based.
The woke libs want to emasculate men, but maybe the real problem is they got rid of all the jobs where you could actually *be* a man.

Okay, so Sting, yeah, that Sting, the tantric sex dude, is out here saying the death of manual labor is making dudes toxic. And honestly? Maybe he's onto something. The left wants to tell you masculinity is inherently evil, but what if the actual evil is robbing men of purpose? What if it's telling them they're not allowed to do anything anymore?
Sting's bringing his musical, The Last Ship, back to the West End, and it's all about shipyard workers back in the day. These were real men, building real things, contributing to something bigger than themselves. Then Thatcher (and every government since, let's be real) decided that was old-fashioned and everyone should work in a call center instead.
Now, I'm not saying asbestos is great. Nobody wants mesothelioma. But there's a difference between a dangerous job you can be proud of and a pointless job that makes you feel like a cog in the machine. Remember that scene in Office Space when Peter destroys the printer? That's what happens when you take away a man's ability to, you know, man.
As Sting puts it: “I work with my hands every day as a musician, and I’m lucky. It’s a rare thing for modern men to actually use their hands and use their strengths to do anything. We’ve lost something there.” He’s not wrong, is he?
He also added, “I don’t have any answers, but maybe the toxicity in society at the moment is [a result of the fact] that we’ve lost that direction for our energy, that male strength. It’s rare we have to use it.” Someone get this guy a beer.
The musical's got guys wondering “For what are we men without a ship to complete?” And that's the million-dollar question, innit? The left wants to redefine masculinity into something soft and pliable. But maybe men don't want to be redefined. Maybe they just want a job where they can feel like they're contributing something. What if society gave men some useful physical jobs to do?
The Last Ship tanked on Broadway, but it's been touring around. It's been tweaked, fixed, and made more relevant (or at least, less terrible). Maybe this time, it'll actually resonate with people who are tired of being told they're the problem instead of being given a chance to be part of the solution.
Sting's not some right-wing firebrand. He's a musician. But sometimes, even a musician can stumble onto a truth the politicians are too busy virtue signaling to see. Deindustrialization didn’t just wreck economies. It wrecked men. And that’s a toxic cocktail nobody wants to drink from. Maybe there is hope yet...
