'Roots' Gets The Boot: Tennessee School District Says 'Nah' to Woke History
Knox County schools actually did something based, pulls Alex Haley's 'Roots' because, let's be honest, it's kinda sus for kids.

Alright, listen up, buttercups. The woke mob is losing its collective mind because Knox County Schools (KCS) in Tennessee finally grew a pair and yanked Alex Haley's Roots: The Saga of an American Family from its library shelves. Seems like the good ol' Age-Appropriate Materials Act of 2022 actually has some teeth. Maybe we're not completely doomed after all.
Roots, for those of you who haven't been indoctrinated, is the story of Kunta Kinte and all that jazz. Look, nobody's denying slavery was bad. Really bad. But do we need to constantly shove it down the throats of impressionable youngsters? Especially when they're also being force-fed gender ideology and critical race theory? I think not.
The Age-Appropriate Materials Act is supposed to keep schools from turning into woke indoctrination camps. Parents get to weigh in, and books get reviewed for, ya know, being completely inappropriate. Imagine that.
KCS spokesperson Carly Harrington trotted out the usual line about how they respect the "immense cultural and historical significance" of Roots. Right. Sure. But apparently, some passage in chapter 84 raised some eyebrows. Probably something about "excessive violence" or whatever. Honestly, who even reads chapter 84? Nobody. But the point is, they did something.
So, the kiddies can still get the Roots indoctrination in class, just not in the library. Baby steps, people. Baby steps. Rome wasn't de-woked in a day.
Of course, the usual suspects are clutching their pearls. PEN America's Tasslyn Magnusson is whining about students being robbed of a "critical connection point." Yeah, a connection point to guilt-tripping and self-loathing. Good riddance.
Tennessee's book-banning is skyrocketing? Good. Maybe other states will follow suit. It's time to take back our schools from the radical left. We need to protect our kids from the woke mind virus. Memes will save us all.
Let's be real, half these books on the banned list are garbage anyway. The Handmaid’s Tale? Overrated dystopian drivel. Water for Elephants? Who cares about elephants? Give me some good ol' fashioned American exceptionalism, please.
The left is losing it because they're losing control. They thought they had a lock on the narrative. They thought they could brainwash our kids with impunity. But the tide is turning. People are waking up. They're seeing through the BS.
