Polis’ office dropped this bombshell alongside a bunch of other pardons and commutations, probably hoping we wouldn’t notice. Nice try, Jared. As if we're not watching you, lizard-man.

"The Clemency power is a serious responsibility," Polis droned. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Tell that to the people who think you're a Deep State plant. The right-wing blogs are already going wild, questioning his motives and, of course, his patriotism. Is he trying to play both sides? Is he trying to make it so people are too confused to even bother voting?

Peters, bless her heart, got railroaded for allegedly poking around Mesa County's voting machines after the 2020 clown show. She was looking for irregularities, the same as any concerned citizen, and the system came down on her like a ton of bricks. Remember when they used to audit things? Now it's straight to jail!

Jena Griswold, Colorado's Secretary of State and professional Karen, predictably lost her mind. "This clemency grant to Tina Peters is an affront to our democracy!" she wailed. Honey, your democracy is already an affront to our democracy. Give it a rest.

Trump’s endorsement is the cherry on top of this sundae of absurdity. “FREE TINA!” he yelled into the digital void. It's all so tiresome. I love it.

The executive order chops Peters' sentence from 8 years and 3 months to a measly 4 years and 4.5 months, with parole kicking in June 1, 2026. Don’t worry, the order reassures us, it doesn’t affect the conviction. So, she's still a criminal, just... a less imprisoned one.

Polis claims his decision is “in the interest of justice.” What justice? The justice of silencing dissent? The justice of persecuting political enemies? The justice of making sure nobody questions the holy scriptures of the Election Gods?

This whole situation is a clown world wrapped in a dumpster fire. It confirms every conspiracy theory, every suspicion about the elites, every fear about the corruption of the system. If that weren't true, then I'd say this just shows how incredibly divided our country is, and how easy it is to rile everyone up. Now, excuse me while I go buy some canned goods.
