Patriotism Hits Rock Bottom: Hageman Nukes Leftists for Using '1619' to Tear America Apart
Only 17% of Americans are 'very proud' of their country, and Harriet Hageman is calling out the anti-American self-flagellation brigade.

The latest Gallup numbers are in, and they are absolutely brutal. According to the 25-year patriotism survey, a record-low 17 percent of American adults are "very proud" of their country. That is less than one in five people. Naturally, Representative Harriet Hageman (R-Wyo.) went on the House floor to deliver a reality check to the cultural revolutionaries currently running the left's academic and political machinery.
Hageman did not mince words about why Americans are feeling so black-pilled about their own nation. She pointed directly to the constant stream of anti-American guilt-tripping coming from the establishment. "Our excitement for America has been dimmed by accusations of an unacceptable morality, our self-image tarnished by a novel self-flagellation," Hageman declared in her upcoming speech.
When you break down the Gallup data, the political divide is almost comical. Democrat pride has completely cratered, falling from 62 percent down to a pathetic 36 percent in just a year. To make matters worse, only 27 percent of Democrats plan to display the American flag on the 250th anniversary of July 4. Meanwhile, 92 percent of Republicans are still standing strong, refusing to let the woke mind virus destroy their appreciation for the country.
Independents are also feeling the drag from the constant cultural warfare, dropping seven points down to 53 percent. Hageman is calling time-out on the globalist narrative that America is just some generic "idea" or a borderless economic zone with no real identity. "We must stop pretending that America is just an idea, or that we have no shared culture worth fighting for," she wrote.
She also took aim at the mass-migration assimilation failure. While America has historically been incredibly gracious to newcomers, Hageman noted that we don't owe anyone the destruction of our own heritage. "By inviting those who seek to make our country home, however, we are not obligated to subjugate our American history, culture and traditions for theirs," she said. Instead, she argued, immigrants should actually assimilate and partake in the American way of life.
Hageman saved her sharpest shots for the left’s obsession with historical revisionism. She accused Democrats of weaponizing the nation's past sins to brand the entire country as fundamentally corrupt. "My friends on the other side of the aisle have worked mightily to weaponize our history with slavery to indict our nation as irredeemable," Hageman said.
According to Hageman, the left’s obsession with the 1619 Project—which claims America was founded on slavery rather than freedom—is a deliberate attempt to fracture the population. "Today, the left reveres 1619 as the year of America’s true founding," she warned, calling those behind the movement "cultural revolutionaries hellbent to tear our society apart."
But the Wyoming representative believes the patriotic doomerism can be reversed. As the country approaches its massive 250th birthday, Hageman is urging Americans to look back at their actual history with honesty and accuracy, rather than the critical theory lens. Whether Americans can turn off the self-flagellation and start waving the flag again remains to be seen, but Hageman is making sure the fight is taken straight to the House floor.
