NPC True Crime Docs Simp for Equestrian Shooter, Family Seethes
Netflix and CBS out here crafting cringe narratives, making the Olympian who shot Lauren Kanarek the real victim. Based?

Alright, bros, gather 'round for the latest clown show courtesy of the MSM and the streaming overlords. Turns out, the family of Lauren Kanarek, the chick who caught a couple slugs from Olympic equestrian Michael Barisone, is MEGA PISSED about these soy-soaked true crime docs. Netflix's "Untold: The Shooting at Hawthorne Hill" and CBS's "48 Hours" are apparently painting Barisone as the real victim. You can't make this stuff up.
So, quick recap for the normies: Barisone, this dude who repped the USA in horse ballet (or whatever dressage is), straight-up ventilated Kanarek at his farm back in '19. She lived, thankfully, but Barisone got popped and charged with attempted murder. Fast forward to 2022, and a jury let him off the hook, citing insanity. He did a stint in the loony bin and was back on the streets by 2023. Justice? Nah, just another day in clown world.
But here's where the real cringe kicks in. According to Kanarek's fam, these documentaries are peddling a narrative that's basically Barisone's cope. Her dad, Jonathan, straight-up called the "48 Hours" episode "defamatory" and said the whole family was “flabbergasted.” Bet.
Now, get this: these documentaries apparently opened the floodgates for the NPC army to harass Kanarek online. We're talking death threats and social media toxicity. Peak internet, amirite? But also, a stark reminder that these narratives have REAL consequences.
Kanarek's lawyer, Steven Beer (lol, Beer), chimed in, saying these documentaries are DEFINTELY not “victim advocacy.” No kidding. He even said they asked Netflix for a screener beforehand so Lauren could mentally prepare for the inevitable online storm, and Netflix gave them the big middle finger. Based?
"We asked Netflix and Propagate for a copy of the screener of the film beforehand so we could help Lauren manage her anxiety,” Beer said. “And they turned us down, [which was] just shocking. So that certainly was a confirmation of what we could expect.”
This whole thing is a masterclass in how not to tell a story. Instead of focusing on the victim, these virtue-signaling filmmakers are bending over backwards to humanize the shooter. Peak NPC behavior.
It's almost like they're trying to rewrite history to fit some woke agenda. But guess what? Real people are suffering because of this. The family's contending the documentaries have caused further distress and have amplified the trauma associated with the 2019 shooting. The Kanarek family seeks to clarify what they view as misrepresentations and ensure Lauren Kanarek's experience is accurately portrayed.
This is why you can't trust anything the MSM or streaming services pump out. It's all agenda-driven garbage designed to make you feel guilty and apologize for existing. Meanwhile, real victims are left to pick up the pieces.
So, next time you're tempted to binge-watch some true crime schlock, remember Lauren Kanarek and the fact that these stories often come at a very real human cost. And maybe, just maybe, turn off the TV and touch grass for a change. You might actually learn something.
