NFL Goes Woke: Eagles Overpay for Greenard While Vikings Tank for Draft Picks
The Eagles prove they're still throwing money at problems while the Vikings embrace the participation trophy era of rebuilding.

PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia Eagles, still riding high on that Super Bowl LII win (barely), decided to open the Brinks truck for Jonathan Greenard, handing him a $100 million participation award just for showing up. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Vikings, realizing they peaked with Brett Favre like 15 years ago, are embracing the eternal rebuild, trading away Greenard for a couple of third-round participation trophies.
Greenard, a 2024 Pro Bowler (must have been a slow year), apparently held the Vikings hostage demanding a new contract or else he'd, what, pout on the sidelines? The Vikings, showing rare fiscal responsibility in a league drowning in woke capitalism, told him to take a hike and shipped him off to Philly for some future assets that will probably turn out to be busts anyway.
The Eagles, perpetually allergic to drafting well, decided the only way to fix their aging defense was to throw obscene amounts of money at a 28-year-old edge rusher. Because that always works out, right? Just ask Albert Haynesworth.
Meanwhile, the Vikings are proudly waving the white flag, admitting they're content to be mediocre for the foreseeable future. Two third-round picks? That's their big plan? Might as well just hand the NFC North title to the Packers now.
This year's NFL Draft is a woke clown show anyway. Fernando Mendoza, some random QB from Indiana, went first overall. David Bailey, a linebacker from Texas Tech, followed. These guys are supposed to save the league? Good luck with that.
All this talk about draft capital and long-term roster building is just code for 'we're not trying to win anytime soon.' The Vikings are basically admitting they're fine with being a feeder team for the rest of the league. Sad!
Remember when football was about grit, determination, and winning at all costs? Now it's all about analytics, participation trophies, and virtue signaling. No wonder ratings are down. Nobody wants to watch this woke garbage.
The Greenard trade perfectly encapsulates the current state of the NFL: bloated contracts, risk-averse general managers, and a league-wide obsession with mediocrity. Congratulations, everyone. You're ruining football.
The Eagles' move is the equivalent of buying a fancy sports car when your house is falling apart. Looks good on the surface, but doesn't address the underlying problems. The Vikings, on the other hand, are just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
